a. This is a process I am going to echo what has been said already. We should give this a chance again if the body doesn’t want to maker edits than that is what it is Chair Paturzo a. Hofstra University Student Government Association 2020 S.A.2020.85.011 Edits to Requirements for Office of President and Vice President Taken from Section II: The Legislative Branch, Subsection 215: Elections of the Constitution 215.4 REQUIREMENTS FOR THE OFFICE OF PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT: Any person who wishes to be a candidate for the office of the President or Vice President shall meet the following criteria: A. Candidates shall attend an informational meeting held by the Elections Commission. The meeting shall outline the proper procedures as to their candidacy. Candidates shall be full-time undergraduate students at Hofstra University. B. Candidates must have served in the Student Government Association for one (1) year before running for the office of President or Vice President C. Candidates for the office of President and Vice President shall maintain a 3.00 GPA in order to be elected to the office of President and Vice President. The GPA status of the candidates shall be verified by the Office of Student Leadership and Engagement (OSLE). D. The candidate’s ticket shall submit a petition to the elections commission with the student identification numbers of no less than ten (10) percent of the Student Government constituency. E. The President-elect and/or Vice President-elect shall make a speech at the Presidential Election Bash. Taken from Section III: Student Government Association Membership, Subsection 302: Code of Ethics and Conduct 302.1 Each member of the Student Government Association shall adhere to an accepted standard of official conduct. Members shall adhere to the attendance requirements outlined in the Policy Series. Complaints filed under this section shall be addressed to the Ethics and Conduct Chair or the Secretary, as appropriate. 302.2 Each member of the Student Government Association shall contribute positively to the work environment of their committee, the senate, and all other aspects of SGA in which they are involved.
