RAEWYN CONNELL, PHD PROFESSOR EMERITA, UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY "THE GOOD UNIVERSITY" Inaugural Lecture of the Global Scholar Lecture Series, Presented by the Department of Sociology with Support from the Office of the Provost What is happening to the universities worldwide today? Raewyn Connell brings a close focus on university work and workers together with a global perspective on knowledge, to launch a discussion about real alternatives to the managerial university. Her talk will present a global perspective on the issues, introduce the hidden history of radical universities, and invite discussion of paths forward. Raewyn Connell is Professor Emerita at the University of Sydney, Australia. Among her many books areThe Good University; Masculinities; Gender in World Perspective; and Southern Theory: Social Science and the Global Dynamics of Knowledge.
