Moderators/Commentators: Welcome to the eleventh annual Land Use Training Program for Municipal Planning and Zoning Officials, sponsored by the Wilbur F. Breslin Center for Real Estate Studies at Hofstra University. Tonight’s program is a collaboration of the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, Nassau County Planning Commission, and the Institute of Real Estate at Hofstra University, and offers training in land use law, tools, and strategies.

Our goal is to help planning and zoning officials better address land use decisions that have become increasingly complex. Planning and zoning board members are called upon to make major decisions relating to real property within their jurisdictions, and these decisions have a direct impact on the future of our communities.

The subject areas covered in this program include the following presentations: Zombie Homes Law: Municipal and Community Impacts; The Effect of Ride-Share on Suburban Mobility and Zoning Ordinances; and Defense and Indemnification of Land Use Board Members.
