By encouraging current and future medical professionals to pursue their interests and passions in the arts, the Osler Society aims to help them in finding and maintaining the essential balance necessary for them to be their best selves, both professionally and personally. Narrateur: Reflections on Caring published its first issue in April 2012, and its second issue in April 2013. With prose, poetry, photography and art from doctors, nurses, residents, medical students and others throughout the North Shore-LIJ Health System and Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine, Narrateur supports our mission to promote self-reflection and compassion in taking care of our patients.
