Meet with your Academic Advisor and discuss the best semester and approach for pursuing an internship. Make sure you will meet all the pre-reqs.

Attend an internship workshop the semester before your begin applying for internships.

Research companies where you are interested in interning. Check out hundreds of opportunities posted on the Career Center’s Handshake database and attend campus career fairs.

Meet with the Career Center’s liaison to the Herbert School to review your resume, cover letter, and portfolio. Go through a mock interview.

Contact companies where you would like to intern. Apply online and reach out to contacts.

Seek a faculty sponsor within your major to oversee your internship. Make sure they approve of the internship description.
