HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY
ECONOMICS (B.A.) MAJOR AN 8-SEMESTER STUDY GRID
including Study Abroad during Spring Semester of Third Year
This is simply an example of what 8 semesters might look like for incoming First-Year students who wish to plan for a semester of study abroad during their third year. If you declare your major later, or are a Transfer Student, your grid will look considerably different. Your choices of courses may vary. Some ECO courses give you the opportunity to fulfill the BH or CC or IS distribution requirements with courses in your major. ECO 184 is required for all majors and can be used to fulfill partially the BH requirement. MATH 61 or MATH 71 are required for all majors and can be used to fulfill partially the NS/MA/CS requirement. Up to six credits may be taken during Study Abroad and apply toward meeting the Distribution Requirements. Students should make sure to meet with the Department Chairperson or their Center for University Advisement advisor at least once every semester.
