Dr. Jonathan Judaken
Spence L. Wilson Chair in the Humanities Rhodes College Dr. Jonathan Judaken, has published more than 60 academic articles on the history of existentialism, antiSemitism, racism, and post-Holocaust French Jewish thought. He has written, edited, or co-edited 6 books. His research focuses primarily on how intellectuals represent Jews and Judaism and race and racism. His work ranges across the history of existentialism, the critical philosophy of race (anti-Jewish and anti-black), critical theories of antiSemitism, and post-Holocaust French Jewish thought. Judaken is currently completing a monograph entitled, Critical Theories of Anti-Semitism: Confronting Modernity and Modern Judeophobia. Funding for this lecture has been provided, in part, by the Dorothy and Elmer Kirsch Endowment Fund for the Hofstra Cultural Center.
