In commemoration of Women’s History Month The Lawrence Herbert School of Communication and the Graduate Program in Journalism invite you to a special presentation:

Thursday, March 4, 2021 · 7-8:30 p.m. Virtual Event A live Zoom conversation with veteran journalist and radio producer Maria E. Martin, the founding executive producer of the award-winning public radio program Latino USA. Her just published memoir, “Crossing Borders, Building Bridges: A Journalist’s Heart in Latin America,” describes her experiences as one of the first Latina news directors at the first bilingual community radio station in the U.S., along with her work at NPR in Washington in the 1980s and years of reporting on both sides of the border. An innovator and leading creative voice in the world of radio journalism, she reminds us why telling stories on the radio is so vital in our lives today.
