In this 90-minute workshop, I will use my documentary films on South A sian LGBTQ+ family-acceptance journeys to foster dialogue, build community, and inspire change. The workshop channels the emotional power of storytelling into a commitment to meaningful action—both small and large—that participants can undertake in their own communities .
Aashish Kumar is an independent documentary filmmaker. His work centers the experiences of South Asian diaspora as seen through the lens of advocacy, compassion, and activism. He is the Producer/Director of an omnibus documentary series titled Body, Home, World: South Asian LGBTQ+ Journeys featuring eight short films about family-acceptance journeys of queer South Asians here in the US and in India.
