The Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies, through an interprofessional learning model, will graduate nurses who will be prepared to provide quality, holistic, scientifically sound, and patient-centered care while optimizing the health and well-being of diverse populations and communities for the betterment of humanity.

VISION:

The Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies aims to be the global leader in interprofessional education, preparing the next generation of nurses. The school incorporates the diverse academic programs and infrastructure of Hofstra University, as well as the significant clinical activities and educational resources of Northwell Health.

First-Year Direct-Entry: BS in Nursing Program

Admission Requirements

• High school cumulative grade point average of 3.6 on a 4.0 scale.

• Test-optional applicants will be considered. Combined SAT score of 1250 (on the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing plus Math sections) or ACT composite score of 28.

• Strong background in science.

• Interview with the School of Nursing (selected students).

First-Year Student Application Process and Timeline

Prospective students submit the Hofstra application or Common Application during their senior year of high school, available at hofstra.edu/apply. The BS in Nursing program accepts a limited number of students. Available spots in the program may fill prior to May 1. We suggest that you submit the deposit as soon as you select Hofstra as your choice. Once those spots are filled, the program will close for further enrollment.
