The American Rescue Plan (ARP) Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund Reporting Quarterly Report: Q3 2021 Posting Date: October 8, 2021 The American Rescue Plan (ARP) was passed by Congress and signed into law to provide economic relief from COVID-19. One section of the ARP Act allocated additional funding to the Higher Education Emergency Relief fund and sent money to schools to use for emergency financial aid grants to students for expenses related to the coronavirus. These grants are known at the University as the “Hofstra HEERF III grants.” In accordance with federal requirements, the University is reporting the following information about its distribution of the Hofstra HEERF III grants. 1. Hofstra University has signed and returned to the United States Department of Education the applicable Certification and Agreement and assures that the applicable amount of funds has been and will be used to provide Hofstra HEERF III grants to students. 2. Hofstra University was awarded $8,054,534 from the United States Department of Education in the student share of the HEERF III funding. 3. Between July 1, 2021 and September 30, 2021, there was no activity and the University did not distribute Hofstra HEERF III grants. Programs to distribute additional Hofstra HEERF III grants will launch soon and be communicated to students. As of June 30, 2021, Hofstra University had distributed $214,000.00 to our students in Hofstra HEERF III grants. 4. Between July 1, 2021 and September 30, 2021, the University did not distribute Hofstra HEERF III grants. More information about student eligibility will be provided at a later date. 5. Between July 1, 2021 and September 30, 2021, the University did not distribute Hofstra HEERF III grants. Programs to distribute additional Hofstra HEERF III grants will launch soon and be communicated to students. 6. Between July 1, 2021 and September 30, 2021, the University did not distribute Hofstra HEERF III grants. More information about student eligibility will be provided at a later date. 7. Eligible students will receive instructions, directions and guidance from the University regarding the Hofstra HEERF III grants as programs to distribute the grants go into effect.
