YOUR ASSIGNMENT!

MYSTERY SCULPTURE MAP HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY MUSEUM OF ART

Campus security could use your advice. Odd things are happening, to be more precise. Flower petals are everywhere, strewn on the ground. The grass has been trampled, with holes all around. Creaking, odd sounds have been heard late in the night. There’s talk of a mischievous sculpture hiding out of sight. The other sculptures know who is making a mess, But exactly which sculpture it is, they will not confess. And although they refuse to stand up and say, We know that their clues can help point the way. Who is it, why is this happening, and what can we do? To help solve the mystery is what we ask of you!

Here I sit crisscross on the ground. I notice some holes that are scattered around. Last night I saw someone climbing up high. It’s for you to figure out who and why.

The view from up here lets me see far and wide. I have seen some things, I must confide. It makes no sense; he’s always been good. Why would he do this and not act as he should?

So take note of my clipboard and what I have done, and see what I’m drawing – it’s clue No. 1.

As you will see, this question will give you the next clue to our mystery.

We’re the pride of the campus, and surely not frail, But oh how we roared when we stepped on a nail! Then we realized there’s more than just one. Where could all these nails be coming from? We’re made of bronze, which can be brown in the daylight air, But look close – after sunning ourselves, another color is there! What other color do you see on the lions? _______ ________ ________ ________ ________ 4 2

My mind is always wondering as I sit at this site. Who’s moving about in the dark of the night? Whoever it is should know right from wrong! And do the right thing to keep us all strong! We great and wise teachers have your final clue. The object between us holds much knowledge that can be read by you. What is the object? The other sculptures are in the quads – together and free – while I’m guarding the Museum, alone as can be. People would find that I have much to share. If some attention were paid to me, that would only be fair! If I had a companion here by my side, I wouldn’t get into trouble and need to hide.
