What can you expect as a Dean’s Business Scholar?
• Professional development guidance from our Office of Graduate Business Career Relations, including access to exclusive internship and job opportunities.
• Visits to hubs for trade and commerce, think tanks, centers for policymaking, and major corporations in the New York City metropolitan area.
• Participation in graduate-level conferences, executive speaker events, seminars, job fairs, and career and networking workshops.
• Project collaborations with alumni, faculty, and industry partners.
• Designation as a Zarb peer leader and student mentor.
As a Dean’s Business Scholar, you will earn your degree plus a certificate and signature badge for your professional profile, letting employers know that you are among an elite, highly competitive group of graduates who are Zarb DBS-ready for business.
Dean’s Business Scholars Program Requirements
First-Year Students
Applicants who submit standardized test scores must have a 3.5+ high school GPA and 1260+ on the SAT or 26+ on the ACT. Those who do not submit scores must have a 3.8+ high school GPA, be in the top 10% of their graduating class, and complete a math class beyond Algebra II and at least one AP or IB course.
Transfer Students
Applicants must have a 3.5+ college GPA.

Hofstra’s Dean’s Business Scholars program supports students in preparing for postgraduation. Some of the programs I found helpful were the workshops for career goals and presentations with Hofstra alumni such as Victoria Mink [Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer of MSG Sports] and Frank Lackner [Founder of Lackner Capital Advisors LLC].
