In 1787 the British Crown founded a settlement in Sierra Leone in what was called the “Province of Freedom.” 411 passengers sailed there in April, and another 400 arrived in May. After the American Revolution, 1,200 Black Loyalist, including Boston King, joined the colony. Boston was an escaped slave who worked his way to freedom. More Blacks came from America and the Caribbean. The colony became the country of Sierra Leone in 1961.

Shore Excursions

The best reasons to book a Shore Excursion are because it is convenient and it's a one stop -shop for all your planning. There is an expansive variety with excursions for every type of traveler and because when you book a Shore Excursion onboard, we ensure that you are the first off the ship, in order to maximize your adventure time. You can book on the Royal App or at the Shore Excursions desk on Deck 5. If you have booked a Royal Caribbean Shore Excursion, please follow the instructions on your ticket for meeting time and location.

Tangier, Morrocco – Gangway Opens 7:30 am & All Onboard at 5:30 pm

The ship will dock at Port de Tanger Ville - Cruise Terminal. Guests may choose to visit Tangier city, which is a 10 -15 minute walk from the terminal. Attractions in Tangier include Kasbah Museum, Grand Socco & Medina, Petit Socco, Cap Spartel, Caves of Hercules and Achakar Beach. Outside the terminal, taxi availability may be limited. A few suggestions: Dress modestly when visiting religious sites and be prepared to haggle in markets. Enjoy your trip to Tangier a city full of charm and surprises .

Taxis are available right outside the cruise terminal.

We dock at the commercial Port of Walvis Bay, Pier 1 and 2, which are approximately 3 km (1.5 miles) from the city center. Wh ile walking is allowed, it is not recommended . For your convenience, we will provide a complimentary shuttle service. Taxis are also available at the port gate if you prefer. Popular attractions in Walvis Bay include Dune 7, Swakopmund, Namibia Craft Centre, Spitzkoppe (the "Matterhorn of Namibia"), Walvis Bay Lagoon, Flamingo Lagoon and Sandwich Harbour.

Important Note: A face-to-face immigration process will be conducted for all guests wishing to go ashore in Namibia, both when disembarking and upon your return. Please ensure you carry your passport, visas (if required), and any other necessary documentation with you to complete this process smoothly. Guests who choose not to go ashore do not need a visa and must stay onboard. Additional information about the immigration process will be provided

The ship will arrive at the E-berth cruise terminal. The port is located within 300 meters of distance from the waterfront where you can find shops and restaurants.

Important Note: A face-to-face immigration process will be conducted for all guests onboard the Voyager of the Seas, even if you are not planning to go ashore. This process needs to be completed in a timely manner, before 11:30 am. Please make sure to bring your passport, visas (if needed) and any other essential documents with you. Further details about the immigration process will be communicated to you .

Limited infrastructure in some of the ports may make it difficult to have accessible transportation for guests who are full-time mobility scooter or wheelchair users. Guests who are unable to walk around without the use of mobility equipment or walk up and down the stairs of the shuttle bus or get on a taxi, may find it difficult to explore the ports to the fullest . We understand the impact this may have on your cruise holiday and we’re sorry for the same.

To protect the biodiversity of the beautiful ports -of-call we visit, there are strict agricultural regulations. No plants, flowers, food (including coffee & fresh fruit) are allowed to be taken off the ship. The local authorities may conduct random inspections and guests could face a fine if any of these items are found on their person .

Please note that a temporary hold of $99.75 will be placed on your card to verify funds. Onboard purchases over $100 will generate additional holds. The hold will be released within 3 to 5 business days after your cruise ends, but can take up to 30 days, depending on your bank. You may add other guests to your expense account by visiting the Guest Services desk. A daily limit can be placed on arcade spending. All charges can be viewed in the Royal Caribbean App or on your Stateroom TV. Specialty Dining reservations can be made through the Royal Caribbean App. You may also dial [7000] on your stateroom phone and select the restaurant you wish to dine in or visit the restaurant and make a reservation with the Maitre d' outside. Lost and Found

Please alert Guest Services prior to your departure if you have lost or misplaced any items during your cruise. You can use www.chargerback.com to report lost items after you leave the ship. All unreported items will be held for 30 days.

Tips for an E asy D eparture

Here’s how to make your departure experience as seamless as possible. You can also check out channel 7 on your stateroom television for a video overview of this process.

We’ve implemented a more gradual flow for our departure process.

• Staterooms must be fully vacated no later than 8:00 am. After you’ve enjoyed breakfast, please head to your designated departure lounge until your departure number is announced or displayed on the ship’s digital screens.

• All guests have been assigned a specific departure group and time. We’ve done our best to schedule your departure at a conven ient time for you. You will be notified of your departure time on channel 2 on your stateroom television until 8:00 am and digital screens throughout the ship. This is where our schedule will be continually updated. We ask you to verify the schedule on the television prior to leaving your stateroom. You can also review your departure information via the Royal Caribbean App for a quick and easy experience.

• Guest disembarkation will take place from Deck 1. Porter assistance is available at the terminal building.

Guests Wishing to Depart on November 13th or before 6:00 am on November 14th

If you plan to debark formally within the dates and times noted above, please note that wheelchair and luggage assistance will not be available . You will need to carry all your luggage and proceed independently.

Before disembarking, please visit the Guest Services Desk on Deck 5 to settle your account and obtain your Clearance Card. Ou r Security Team will collect this card along with your SeaPass card.

Self-Assist Departure

You are free to depart as soon as the Self-Assist Departure announcement has been made. Avoid the wait by keeping all your luggage with you as you depart the ship. Assigned departure times begin at approximately 6:30 am am and end at 8:45 am. Due to limited elevator capacity in the terminal, we highly recommend to participate in our luggage assistance program.

Note: This option is not available for guests requiring wheelchair assistance, Royal Caribbean airport transfers or shore exc ursions. Getting Off the Ship

• Tune to channel 2 on your stateroom television for the assigned departure times.

• Once the Self-Assist announcement is made, proceed from your stateroom or departure lounge to the gangway on Deck 1 with all your luggage.

Take advantage of our luggage assistance provided on the night before departure. Assigned departure times begin at 7:00 am and end at 8:45 am approximately.

Night Before

• Leave your bags with luggage tags attached outside your door by 10:00 pm. Remember to place the luggage tag on one of your ca rry-on bags so your departure group is clearly identified.

• Keep travel documents, valuables, and essential medications with you.

Note: Guests requiring wheelchair assistance on Royal Caribbean airport transfers are required to check their bags the night before. Departure Morning

• Your invoice will be emailed to you by the end of your cruise vacation.

• Don’t forget valuables stored in your stateroom safe and leave the safe door open.

• Head to your designated departure lounge and proceed to the gangway once your departure time is called. Getting Off the Ship

• Once your departure number is called on channel 2 on your stateroom television or on digital screens around the ship, proceed from your stateroom or departure lounge to the gangway on Deck 1 using the elevators nearest to you.

• If you are taking independent transportation, claim your baggage at the area identified by the number on your luggage tag at the terminal, then proceed to your transportation.

• Limited number of taxis are available outside the terminal.

• Wheelchairs Assistance will be provided from The Tavern Bar, Deck 4 from 7:00 am on a first come first serve basis.

How do I close out my tab?

The credit card you provided at check-in will be automatically charged. You can also add additional gratuities to your SeaPass at Guest Services or leave cash.

There will be a hold when you link your credit card to your onboard account. The hold is used to secure funds for anticipated onboard purchases and will be released at the end of the sailing once your final charges are settled.
