Helpful Health Information Medical experts tell us that the best way to prevent colds, flu, or gastrointestinal illnesses - such as a Norovirus that can be transferred easily through person to person contact - is to simply wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water after restroom breaks and again before eating anything. Symptoms of Noroviruses include an upset stomach, vomiting and diarrhea. In fact, the only Illness that is more prevalent is the common cold. Should you experience any gastrointestinal illness, please visit the ship's medical facility for a complimentary consultation and treatment if necessary.

Health Advisory Diseases Spread by Mosquito - ZIKA virus, Chikungunya virus, Dengue fever: In order to reduce the risk of contracting any number of diseases spread by mosquito bite, including ZIKA virus (in countries where Zika virus transmission is ongoing [see http:// wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/notices]): Malaria, Dengue Fever (especially in the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, India, Mexico, and Haiti), and Chikungunya (especially in Haiti, Dominican Republic, and St. Martin [both French and Dutch sides]), travelers are urged to take precautions to avoid mosquito bites by remaining in well screened or air-conditioned areas when possible, by wearing clothing that adequately covers arms and legs, and by applying insect repellant to both skin and clothing. The most effective repellents are those containing DEFT at a concentration of 20-30%. Mosquitoes carrying the ZIKA virus may bite at all times of the day or night, but there are two peak periods of biting activity - in the morning for several hours after daybreak, and in the late afternoon, for several hours before dark. Pregnant women who are travelling to one of these affected areas may contact our onboard medical center staff, and are encouraged to strictly follow steps to avoid mosquito bites during the trip (see http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/page/avoid-bug-bites). Mosquito repellant may be purchased in the onboard gift shop or in the medical facility."
