Setting Up Your Account

If you did not set up an account during Online Check-In or during boarding in the cruise terminal, you can do so in the Royal App or at the Guest Services Desk on Deck 4. Onboard Expense Accounts can be set up with a credit card, a debit card, or cash. Our ships utilize a cashless system, so your SeaPass card will be the only way to make purchases while onboard. Please note that a temporary hold of $99.75 will be placed on your card to verify funds. Onboard purchases over $100 will generate additional holds. The hold will be released within 3 to 5 business days after your cruise ends, but can take up to 30 days, depending on your bank. You may add other guests to your expense account by visiting the Guest Services desk. A daily limit can be placed on arcade spending. All charges can be viewed in the Royal Caribbean App. Printed receipts will be provided for each onboard purchase. A final statement will be e-mailed to you within 24 hours of departing the ship on the last day of your cruise. Guests on a cash account will need to settle their account at Guest Services prior to disembarking the ship.

Specialty Dining reservations can be made through the Royal Caribbean App. You may also dial 54 on your stateroom phone and select the restaurant you wish to dine in or visit the restaurant and make a reservation with the Maitre d' outside. The Maitre d' can also assist you with making changes to your seating.

How much are gratuities?

If not already pre-paid, a $16.00 gratuity ($18.50 for Suite guests) is added to each guest's onboard account daily to help recognize superior service from crew during your cruise. This gratuity is shared among dining & culinary services sta , stateroom attendants, and other hotel services teams working behind the scenes. In addition to daily gratuities, an 18% gratuity is automatically added to all beverage, mini bar items, specialty dining, and spa & salon purchases.

Getting around in Nuuk, Greenland

Shuttle buses are available and the tickets can be purchased on the Royal Caribbean APP and at the Shore Excursions Desk on Deck 4. Please note that the tickets cannot be purchased outside on the pier ashore. The shuttle stop is on the pier outside the ship and will leave guests at the Culture Center Katuaq in the city center. Shuttle buses run approximately every 20 minutes. It is possible to walk to the city center which takes about 25 to 30 minutes however we don’t recommend it as the first part of the way in to town is along a road with no sidewalks, truck traffic and is also uphill. The first shuttle bus will be available from 10:30 am and the last one leaves Nuuk city center to return to the ship at 9.00 pm with a continuous service operating throughout the day. Guests on Royal Caribbean shore excursions do not require a shuttle bus ticket and only need their tour tickets to utilize the service. While in town you can visit the National Museum, The Cathedral and the Art Museum. Credit cards accepted at many places and ATM’s are available. Restaurants, Cafes a Bank and a Post Office are available in the downtown area as well. Greenland uses the Danish Kroner (DKK) as its currency.

Getting around in Qaqortoq, Greenland (Tendering)

The ship’s tenders will leave you in the port of Qaqortoq. The heart of the village is within walking distance and is approximately a 10 min walk from the pier, providing an ideal opportunity to stroll through the colonial-era buildings, take a photo tour, visit museums and restaurants, and observe the views with just a short walk up the surrounding hills. There will be limited transportation on the pier. There is no tourist information booth in the terminal. Greenland uses the Danish Kroner (DKK) as its currency. Credit cards accepted at many places but bringing Danish Kroners are recommended.

Getting around in Nanortalik, Greenland (Tendering)

The ship’s tenders will leave you in the port of 10 Passenger Port in Nanortalik, the southernmost town in Greenland, which is known among Greenlanders for its stunning fjords, mountains capes, traditional handmade crafts and Nordic history. From the pier to town is a 10 minutes walk. There will be limited transportation on the pier (A taxi that can carry up to 4 passengers is around DKK150). There’s very little local agriculture in the region, but reindeer, musk ox, shrimp and halibut flat fish are some favorite Greenland delicacies. While there are no restaurants in Nanortalik, you can dine inside the Hotel Kap Farvel, which serves a “dish of the day,” made up of the fresh caught seafood or locally sourced meat.

(Please note: Tender operations are where the ship uses small boats (or tenders) from ship to shore. During the later arrivals into port the ship has to be cleared by the local authorities, and the tender platforms need to be set. Once the ship is cleared by the local authorities and the tenders are ready, an announcement will be made. Tender tickets will be used as a means of control, this information will be available in the daily Cruise Compass or at the Guest Services desk. We respectfully ask that guests do not congregate on the stairs or lower decks for safety reasons and until announcements are made).

Getting around in St. John’s, Newfoundland

The cruise port terminal is located within easy walking distance from downtown Saint John’s. Cruise ships dock at Pier 10 and Pier 11, within 0,6 of a mile and within walking distance to downtown Saint John’s. In the downtown area you can find historic churches, art galleries, museums, restaurants, souvenir shops and coffee shops. Water Street is the main shopping street. Local transport & taxis are available in the city which can allow you to reach points further from the center. The sightseeing minibus service St. John’s Hop on Hop off is offered during the summer season and connects all of St. John’s main activities. The Currency used in Newfoundland is the (CAD) Canadian Dollar and credit cards are also accepted in some of the restaurants and shops.

Getting around in Nanortalik, Greenland (Tendering)

The ship’s tenders will leave you in the port of 10 Passenger Port in Nanortalik, the southernmost town in Greenland, which is known among Greenlanders for its stunning fjords, mountains capes, traditional handmade crafts and Nordic history. From the pier to town is a 10 minutes walk. There will be limited transportation on the pier (A taxi that can carry up to 4 passengers is around DKK150). There’s very little local agriculture in the region, but reindeer, musk ox, shrimp and halibut flat fish are some favorite Greenland delicacies. While there are no restaurants in Nanortalik, you can dine inside the Hotel Kap Farvel, which serves a “dish of the day,” made up of the fresh caught seafood or locally sourced meat.

Getting around in St. John’s, Newfoundland

The cruise port terminal is located within easy walking distance from downtown Saint John’s. Cruise ships dock at Pier 10 and Pier 11, within 0,6 of a mile and within walking distance to downtown Saint John’s. In the downtown area you can find historic churches, art galleries, museums, restaurants, souvenir shops and coffee shops. Water Street is the main shopping street. Local transport & taxis are available in the city which can allow you to reach points further from the center. The sightseeing minibus service St. John’s Hop on Hop off is offered during the summer season and connects all of St. John’s main activities. The Currency used in Newfoundland is the (CAD) Canadian Dollar and credit cards are also accepted in some of the restaurants and shops.
