ONBOARD EXPENSE ACCOUNT

Setting Up Your Account

If you did not set up an account during Online Check-In or during boarding in the cruise terminal, you can do so in the Royal App or at the Guest Services Desk on Deck 5. Onboard Expense Accounts can be set up with a credit card, a debit card, or cash. Our ships utilize a cashless system, so your SeaPass card will be the only way to make purchases while onboard. Please note that a temporary hold of $99.75 will be placed on your card to verify funds. Onboard purchases over $100 will generate additional holds. The hold will be released within 3 to 5 business days after your cruise ends, but can take up to 30 days, depending on your bank. You may add other guests to your expense account by visiting the Guest Services desk. A daily limit can be placed on arcade spending. All charges can be viewed in the Royal Caribbean App or on your Stateroom TV. Printed receipts will be provided for each onboard purchase, and a preliminary statement will be delivered to your stateroom on the last night of your cruise. A final statement will be e-mailed to you within 24 hours of departing the ship on the last day of your cruise. Guests on a cash account will need to settle their account at Guest Services prior to disembarking the ship.

Specialty Dining Reservations

Specialty Dining reservations can be made through the Royal Caribbean App. You may also dial 7000 on your stateroom phone and select the restaurant you wish to dine in or visit the restaurant and make a reservation with the Maitre d' outside. The Maitre d' can also assist you with making changes to your seating.

Room Service

Continental breakfast is complimentary. Both the All-Day Menu and American Breakfast will have a delivery fee of $7.95 plus an 18% gratuity for each order. To view the menu, visit the Royal App or browse on the TV in your stateroom. When you’re ready to order, dial 4800 from your stateroom phone.

How much are gratuities?

If not already pre-paid, a $18.50 gratuity ($21.00 for Suite guests) is added to each guest's onboard account daily to help recognize superior service from crew during your cruise. This gratuity is shared among dining & culinary services staff, stateroom attendants, and other hotel services teams working behind the scenes. In addition to daily gratuities, an 18% gratuity is automatically added to all beverage, mini bar items, specialty dining, and spa & salon purchases.

Guests will not be permitted off or on the ship without their SeaPass Card and Photo Identification (Government Issued).

Bringing Food Ashore

Due to port health regulations, food, including fruits, vegetables and drinks, is not allowed to be taken off the ship when visiting a port or a fine will be issued.

Exercise Caution: Counterfeit Medication in Mexico

While over the counter and prescription pharmaceuticals may be readily available for purchase, counterfeit medication is common and may contain dangerous ingredients, including deadly doses of fentanyl.

Beverages and other Liquids

Local security authorities will dispose of any liquids returning to the ship. Unopened liquor bottles will be stored onboard for safe keeping and returned to guests on the last day of the cruise.

Mexican Ports No Smoking Update

Mexico has banned all forms of smoking (including e-cigarettes) in all public spaces. Before you go ashore, please store them away in your stateroom. Failure to comply may result in fines and/or being detained up to 36 hours.

Need a Transfer to the Airport?

Guests with flights after noon on departure morning, can purchase transfer tickets to Houston George Bush International Airport (IAH) for $59 per person and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) for $59, at Guest Services until Day 6 of the cruise before 11:00 am.

Guests will not be permitted off or on the ship without their SeaPass Card and Photo Identification (Government Issued).

Shore Visits For Minors

Parents or guardians must not permit any guest in their care under the age of 18 to leave the ship in any port without responsible adult supervision.

Need a Transfer to the Airport?

Guests with flights after noon on departure morning, can purchase transfer tickets to Houston George Bush International Airport (IAH) for $59.00 per person and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) for $59.00, at Guest Services until Day 6 of the cruise before 11:00 am.

Offloading Goods in Port

Due to local port authority customs regulations, offloading goods of any kind is not legally permitted, unless previously approved and documented with local government. Guests who bring items they wish to donate while in port without the right governmental landing approvals will need to keep these items in their stateroom and return home with them.

Port Advisory

For your safety and comfort ashore, we highly recommend you secure all valuables while enjoying your time in port. Avoid wearing excessive jewelry or carrying large sums of cash with you.

Take A Towel And Dive Into Adventure

With your SeaPass card, you can check out as many towels needed after each new adventure. Make sure to bring your towel back by 5:00 pm on the last day of the sailing. A $25 USD replacement fee will be charged to your SeaPass card for each unreturned towel.

SeaPass Card Cash Limit

The credit limit for cash SeaPass cards is $500. Once this limit is reached, the account will be deactivated. To reactivate, a cash deposit is needed or simply link a credit card on the Royal App.

Tips for an Easy Departure

Here’s how to make your departure experience as seamless as possible. You can also check out Channel 7 on your stateroom television for a video overview of this process.

We’ve implemented a more gradual flow for our departure process.

• Staterooms must be fully vacated no later than 8:00 am. After you’ve enjoyed breakfast, please head to your designated departure lounge until your departure number is announced or displayed on the ship’s digital screens.

• All guests have been assigned a specific departure group and time. We’ve done our best to schedule your departure at a convenient time for you. You will be notified of your departure time on Channel 2 on your stateroom television until 8:00 am, and wayfinding maps and digital screens throughout the ship. This is where our schedule will be continually updated. We ask you to verify the schedule on the television prior to leaving your stateroom. You can also review your departure information via the Royal Caribbean App for a quick and easy experience.

• Guests can purchase transfer tickets to Houston George Bush International Airport (IAH) and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) at Shore Excursions Desk, at Guest Services desk or through the RC App until the last day of the cruise before 11:00 am. (This is for guests with flights after noon on departure morning).

• Transfers cancellations can be done 24 hours prior to departure.

• To avoid the large crowds and the long wait times, take advantage of our Self-Assist program (see details below).

Self-Assist Departure

Avoid the wait by keeping your entire luggage with you as you depart the ship. Guests who decide to carry their own luggage can debark from the ship accordingly as per your designated departure time on the App Check your departure time before proceeding to the gangway. The exit gangway is located at deck 5 forward and aft.

Note: This option is not available for guests requiring wheelchair assistance.

** To take part of our Self Assist program you need to carry only 1 bag per person. The terminal in Galveston has limited elevat ors. The use of escalators while handling more than one piece of luggage is not permitted. **

Departure Morning

• Your invoice will be emailed to you at the end of your cruise vacation.

• Don’t forget valuables stored in your stateroom safe and leave the safe door open.

• You are free to depart as soon as the Self-Assist Departure announcement has been made. Typically, by 7:45 am.

Getting Off the Ship

• Once the Self-Assist announcement is made or when you receive a notification via the Royal Caribbean App, proceed from your stateroom or departure lounge to the gangway on Deck 5 with your entire luggage.

• Taxis are usually readily available outside the terminal.

Regular Departure

Take advantage of our luggage assistance provided on the night before departure. Assigned departure times begin at 8:30 am and end at 10:00 am approximately. The exit gangway is located on deck 5 forward and aft.

Night Before

• If you are not choosing Self-Assist Departure, leave your bags with luggage tags attached outside your door by 10:00 pm. Remember to place the luggage tag on one of your carry-on bags so your departure group is clearly identified.

• Keep travel documents, valuables, and essential medications with you.

• Note: Guests requiring wheelchair assistance on Royal Caribbean airport transfers and shore excursions are required to check their bags the night before.

Departure Morning

• Your invoice will be emailed to you by the end of your cruise vacation.

• Don’t forget valuables stored in your stateroom safe and leave the safe door open.

• On departure morning, if your luggage tag number has not been called, PLEASE REMAIN IN YOUR WAITING AREA UNTIL THE TAG IS CALLED.

Getting Off the Ship

• If you are on a Royal Caribbean shore excursion, please refer to your tour ticket for meeting point and time details. You can collect your bags at the terminal.

• If you are taking independent transportation, claim your baggage at the area identified by the number on your luggage tag at the terminal, and then proceed to your transportation. Taxis will be readily available.

• If you require wheelchair assistance, please proceed to “On Air” located on Deck 5 forward, preferably 30 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time.

• Please note that wait times at the terminal will be longer for guests traveling with birth certificates instead of passports.

How do I close out my tab?

Your invoice will be mailed to you at the end of your cruise vacation. The credit card you provided at check-in will be automatically charged. You can also add additional gratuities to your SeaPass at Guest Services or leave cash.

There will be a hold when you link your credit card to your onboard account. The hold is used to secure funds for anticipated onboard purchases and will be released within 5 – 7 business days after your sailing.
