A day o AT THE BEACH
Take a short walk from the park to Mudeford Quay, where one of the most loved local activities is crabbing amongst the lobster pots. Make sure you take a crabbing line, some bait (smoked bacon works best!) and a bucket. You can buy all of the necessities there if you haven’t brought them with you. You can even try some watersports such as paddle boarding and kayaking.
Make sure to head to Highcliffe beach, with both shingle and sandy areas perfect for those body boarding or bathing enthusiasts. With a series of slopes and paths to explore, your four-legged friend will also be endlessly entertained with parts of the beach being dog-friendly all year round.
Just beyond the park
Just a stone’s throw from Hoburne Park is Christchurch town centre and it’s Priory. You can learn all about this important historical and religious landmark from its origins in 1094, through to the middle ages and right up to the present day.
With its golden sand and popular gardens, Bournemouth is well worth a visit. The town centre is lined with high street names perfect for some retail therapy.
You’re also only a short drive away from the New Forest. Take a walk through the beautiful National Park – it won’t be long until you come across some of the New Forest ponies, donkeys and cattle. Make sure to keep an eye out for the pigs released for pannage in the autumn months.
The local area is full of history with lots to learn. St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery is located in the heart of the historic coastal market town of Lymington and explores the history of Lymington and the coast. Want to learn more about the forest? Make sure to take a trip to the New Forest Museum in Lyndhurst.

Turn your heating off in the spring and summer months. Especially when you are out for the day.
Boil the kettle, with just the amount of water you need. Turn the heating down 1oC, this will save approximately 184kg of CO2 from the atmosphere.
Power-off Switch off appliances at the mains, such as TVs, DVD players, mobile phone chargers, microwaves, dishwashers and washing machines.
Turn your decking lights off when you go to bed
Recycle your rubbish, separate bins available across the park for recyclables.
Switch off all your lights when you are not using your holiday home and turn them off when you are not using a room. Particularly external lighting.
Don’t use your car to get around the park, instead count your steps, enjoy the exercise and save money on fuel.
Please close your hot tub lid when you are not using it. It will help the tub maintain its temperature and reduce electricity usage.
