“WE HAVE A BIG SIX WEEKS AHEAD”

THOUGHTS FROM THE DUGOUT

Good afternoon and welcome back to Rakesmoor Lane for today’s North West Counties Football League fixture against Route One.

We’ve had three challenging away games on the bounce. The first was a loss to league leaders Atherton LR, but we were very unlucky not to come away with something that day. The lads put in a great second-half performance, but it just didn’t quite happen for us in front of goal. Then, we had an away cup tie at Daisy Hill, which ended with a solid win and a good team performance. It was exactly what we needed to get back on track.

In our last outing, prior to the postponed fixture against Darwen, we faced a very tough trip to Bacup in poor conditions, and unfortunately, the pitch was disappointing again. It was always going to be a battle, but defensively, the team was solid, which was very pleasing. We need to start taking our chances again, and hopefully, we can put that right today.

Today will be a challenging game against Route One Rovers, who are a wellorganised side with plenty of quality. We also have a big six weeks ahead of us, and it’s important we make the most of this period to put ourselves in contention as we move into the new year.

Thank you for your support this afternoon; let’s get behind the lads!
