THOUGHTS FROM THE DUGOUT

Good afternoon and a welcome to Rakesmoor Lane for this afternoon’s North West Counties Football League fixture against Pilkington FC.

We go into a tough test today against table-topper Pilkington FC after a frustrating period after suffering back-to-back disappointing defeats. Still, we hope this challenge and opportunity sparks the reaction needed.

The last few weeks have been tough with picking up injuries to a number of key players in Will, Jase, Tommy, Joely and Reidy. Still, we have tried to manage as best as possible but unfortunately fallen short the last two weeks, reinforcing what those lads add to this group.

This is the first of our last ten games, and each one is significant to our overall season and whether we reach our goals of being back in those playoffs again this year. We know teams will take points off each other in this league, but we need to focus on ourselves and try putting as many points on the board as possible, especially in those remaining seven home fixtures out of the 10.

Taking on the league leaders could be the ideal way to kick start a big push, so let’s give it everything we have got, and hopefully, we get the support needed from players/clubs/fans in the local area to help keep pushing us on.
