One of the top comics to come out of Washington D.C., Mark has been described in the press as "funny without being vulgar or nasty" and "going the smarter, hipper direction to the joke."

His warm stage presence and stand-up talents have landed him appearances on several network, syndicated, and cable television programs including "Night Shift", CNBC's America's Talking Network, and the nationally syndicated "Bob and Tom" radio show.

Recently he was the opening act for a David Copperfield television special A first-generation American, Mark's material ranges from his immigrant family to the aggravations of modern life; from current events to the fragility of the male ego. There is even a little music tossed in for good measure! Mark Matusof will entertain to end inaugural games at 7pm.

Dear BridgeMill Athletic Club Members,

Unfortunately, we have identified an increasing issue happening during some of these open hours. We have recorded numerous instances of members with 24-hour access fobs opening the doors to individuals without access fobs. This is a violation of our 24-hour access policy that our members agreed to upon acceptance of the access fob. Allowing unauthorized people to access to our private facilities puts safety and security at great risk.

To address the increase in these incidents, we have implemented a new camera system that monitors all access points in real time. Members found assisting others in unauthorized entry, and thereby violating the policy, will be subject to penalties that could include membership suspension for repeated violations.

It is our intent that the enforcement of these rules will contribute to maintaining a safe and purposeful atmosphere within the fitness center. Your cooperation and commitment to these guidelines will play a crucial role in upholding the integrity of our gym community. Together, we can create a space where everyone feels secure and can fully enjoy the benefits of a dedicated fitness environment.

Should you have any concerns about safety, security or behavior at the fitness center, please do not hesitate to contact the Fitness Center Director at 770-324-3175.

RYDER CUP TEAM

Great playing! What a great time had by all. Total team effort! Final tally BMAC 36 - TLH 28. First day winners to take both points were Moffa/Davidson, Porecca/ Buckman, Quigley/Sharp, Lentchner/Cook (grizzled match play veterans), and Hanson/Westwood (what???). 2nd Day - TLH actually closed the gap to 29-25 at one point and it was looking a little dicey.

Match 24, Captain Webster potentially in the match of the day, all square going through the 18 hole grind and 8 Yuengling Lights later, was giving a stroke on the hole. Webster had no choice but to go the short route to the green. The crowd went Wild!

Fittingly the two day Ryder Cup was officially ours, and we pulled away with 5 of the last 8 matches going our way.

We had three players take all 3 points this weekend.

2024 – A YEAR OF GROWTH FOR THE LGA

The Bridgemill LGA began in 2020 when a group of ladies decided to start playing golf. It began informally with group lessons with Denise Killeen. In 2021, there was enough interest to form a board and organize some events. Over the next two years, the group grow organically from a love of the game.

Fast forward to 2024 and we are 57 members strong. This year we are hosting 7 LGA tournaments along with 3 Bridgemill sponsored tournaments. In addition to tournaments, we offer opportunities to play nine holes on Wednesdays in a more casual setting.

Our season kicked off with our Spring Fling in March and will end in early December with our always fun Par 3 Tournament and holiday party.

One very impressive addition to our group this year, was the idea by Vanessa Mullen to organize a Mentor/Mentee program. The program was designed to help women interested in golf, learn a bit about the game and ease into the more formal LGA. With about 15 members of the LGA acting as mentors, we have about 40 women who signed up to be mentees. Each mentee is assigned to a small group with one or two mentors. The small groups get together to play nine holes or just meet on the driving to practice. Most of the mentees are actively taking lessons through Denise Killeen. The program has offered ladies who are new to the sport, a great way to learn the game, meet new people and make new friends.

Here are some photos of the groups on one of our summer scrambles.

OUR LGA –BY THE NUMBERS

• 57 Members
