• Parks and Playground areas are private Club property Members & Accompanied Guests are welcome.

• Parks and Playground areas close at Dark.

• Members are responsible for their child’s safety at all times.

• Adult supervision is required for all children under 12.

• Pets are not permitted in any sand areas. All pets must remain on-leash while on BridgeMill property.

• No bikes, skateboards, skates, etc. permitted under the Pavilion.

• Do not use sidewalk chalk underneath the Park Pavilion.

• No food and beverage is allowed on the basketball and volleyball courts except in plastic sports bottles.

• Baseballs, softballs and bats are not permitted in the park/playground area, including the open field.

• The infant swings are for small children assisted by an adult.

• Glass is not permitted.

• BridgeMill's Park and surrounding areas are smoke-free.

• All trash must be disposed of in proper containers.

PICKLEBALL OPEN / REC PICKLEBALL WILL BE AVAILABLE TWICE EACH WEEK* Open Play Pickleball will be on Wednesdays and Sundays from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. While Wednesday is geared for newer players and Sunday has players with more experience, any one can come enjoy either group. MONDAYS & WEDNESDAYS AT 4:45PM THE PROGRAM This is an introductory program facilitated by a certified personal trainer and designed to educate our youth on fitness center etiquette, equipment use and proper form on equipment in the CARDIO/WEIGHT ROOM ONLY. This program prepares our youth for future independent training.

The following refects our regularly scheduled classes and activities that will resume when restrictions are lifted.

LOW IMPACT TOTAL WORKOUT: Mondays 10:30am This moderate intensity class combines low impact cardio and strength exercises with core and stretching for a fun total body workout. Suitable for all fitness levels.

PUMP IT UP EXPRESS: Thursdays 7:30am This high energy, 30 minute, calorie scorching, cardio and muscle endurance class, utilizes light to moderate weights, with lots of repetitions, for a total body workout

FITNESS INFERNO: Tuesdays 8:15am This moderate to high intensity workout combines 3 rounds of 10 cardiovascular exercises with body weight and strength exercises to burn substantial calories, and strengthen all major muscle groups.

CARDIO KICKBOXING: Fridays 8:15am A fun, energetic class that combines choreographed movements of punches, kicks and knee strikes set to the latest music. Expect a full body workout that engages every muscle group, torches calories, build s lean muscle and improves flexibility, balance and coordination.

BOOMERANGERS FUNCTIONAL FITNESS: Tuesdays 1:00pm This functional fitness program is designed by the National Institute on Aging and focuses on fitting exercise and physical activity in to daily living. It is for any Active Aging Adult who is currently exercising or in need of a guide to get moving or be more active. Individuals will exercise weekly, set goals, track progress, and receive nutrition guidance. To learn more go to: go4life.nia.nih.gov H.I.I.T. BLAST: Wednesdays 9:15am High intensity interval training helps you be more efficient in less time. Short bursts of intense exercise followed by short recovery breaks. Bodyweight exercises , plyometrics, and other training techniques maybe used.

BARRE/PILATES FUSION: Wednesdays 10:30am This full body conditioning class combines the fundamental principles of both Barre and Pilates. Each class will work to balance all muscle groups’ strength and flexibility, with an emphasis on sculpting long, lean muscles while challenging the core with each movement. This low impact class is great for all ages and fitness levels.

KINDSTRETCH: Fridays 9:30am Learn movement patterns that promote full body control to Improve flexibility, mobility and joint strength.

LABLAST: Fridays 10:30am LaBlast is a ballroom dance inspired dance fitness program created by Louis Von Amstel - former Dancing with the Stars pro and world champion. It is partner-free and accessible for all levels of participants. You can be a seasoned ballroom dancer or an absolute newbie.

All class fees are $3 per class or $32 per month (must be paid at the first of the month). Fees may be charged to your Member account. The above classes are inclusive in Golf Memberships. Please sign in at the desk upon entering the Fitness Center and indicate if you are a Golf Member or type of payment.

SPECIALTY GROUP FITNESS

Specialty fitness programs are short term (4-8 week) sessions that are goal specific and include an added personal experience.

CARDIO/STRENGTH CIRCUIT Mondays 7:00pm with Andrea. This cardio/strength, small group class is held in the cardio weight room. It is performed in a circuit format that moves from cardio vascular machines to weight machines. The class is designed for all fitness levels to tone muscles and increase metabolic function for more calories burned over a longer period of time. Members must register for the class each month (4x/month $20).

INTRODUCTION TO FITNESS This is a once a month, small group, introduction to fitness class. It focuses on teaching proper use of the cardio and weight equipment, with an emphasis on how to get started and what options are available to help you reach your health and fitness goals. This Session is COMPLIMENTARY, and for MEMBERS ONLY. Call 770.345.2990 to register.

PILATES The Pilates workout utilizes a spring and pulley resistance system along with bodyweight movements to provide a challenging workout that builds core strength, endurance, coordination while improving flexibility and balance. At the time of publication in mid-April, BridgeMill Athletic Club had implemented the following modifications to service due to the Coronavirus outbreak and government restrictions in place: The golf course is still open. We are offering curbside check-in. The outside staff will check you in and process any charges so that it is not necessary to go into the golf shop. The staff is taking extra precautions to sanitize golf carts and any other surfaces that golfers come in contact with. We will operate the Halfway Café to service golfers' needs. Other golf-related food and beverage will be take-away only and not offered in any group setting.

Welcome to golf in 2020, where we now sanitize golf carts at least twice a day, we have removed rakes, coolers, sand bottles, pencils, scorecards and tees from the carts and golf course. The golf course remains open and is very busy. Please plan ahead and call to make tee times in advance.

The First Club event is the Member Guest which has been moved to June 26th-27th.

The practice round is June 25th. We will see if Kevin Glorio and Mark Stoneburner can defend their illustrious crown! Signups are being redone based upon the original sign ups. They have first preference to re-up for the event. We will then open up places for other members to sign up. Please make sure to call and see if there is room to play in the first Club event of the year. We are once again asking Golf Members to bring outside guests for this event. The Dinner this year will be held at the pool for players and their significant others. We will have a band and this should be a great finale to the wonderful week we have planned.

The Member Member was set for June 13-14th and has been moved to August 8th and 9th. The Battle of the Mill will resume again in 2021.

Answer: The Netherlands Although the Scottish were credited with developing the sport of golf that we play today, the earliest concepts of the sport are said to have originated in the Netherlands as early as 1297 A.D. In fact, the name of the sport was derived from the Dutch language, from a game known as kolf or kolven. In kolf, players would hit a small ball towards a predetermined spot. The person who got to the spot with the least amount of strokes was the winner. The game of kolf was also played on ice during the winter and may have influenced the game of hockey as well.

JUNIOR TENNIS PROGRAM The junior program at BridgeMill is designed to meet the needs of all our junior players starting at age 5 and up and recreational to advanced tournament players.

The goal of our program is to instill a love for the game of tennis in our youth.

We encourage and foster a healthy, active lifestyle that players carry with them throughout their lives. Our program is divided into categories based on ability and age. All programs focus on proper stroke development, footwork, fitness, strategy and mental toughness at an age and level appropriate manner. EXCEL FUTURE STARS SUMMER DEVELOPMENT GROUPS 5-6 years – This group is for our youngest juniors with little or no tennis experience. Our goal in the program is to help children learn and enjoy the game of tennis while improving their overall athletic skills. We focus on basic motor skills like throwing, catching, running and jumping but also learn fundamental racket skills.

BRIDGEMILL SIXES SERVICE LEAGUE BSSL MAY 2020

The last few months have been challenging for us all and the Bridgemill Sixes Service League wants you to know that we love and care for you all. We are a close knit community and it has been amazing to see how much we have reached out to each other during these times. Let's continue to support our neighbors and community.

Community service is what the Bridgemill Sixes Service League is all about. We are a non profit organization that raises money for charities of the community. We also do service projects throughout the year such as the community food drive, the Summer Lunch program, Give a Kid a Chance, and Relay for Life. We collect SCAT items which are items the schools are needing and we donate them to the schools. We are group of ladies that work together to do these things for the community and have also built a sisterhood within our group.

Another thing we do every year is the Lexine Harper Scholarship. This year we will be awarding two high school seniors of Cherokee County with a $1500.00 scholarship.

The deadline for their applications was at the end of April. The scholarship is not based on grades. It is based on community service. Due to Covid-19, there has been a delay in choosing the winners. We will announce the two

Together, we can make a difference winners as soon as possible. Our hearts go out to the high school seniors of the community. We know the end of your high school year didn't go as planned. Celebrations will take place as soon as possible. The community is proud of you and we want to say Congratulations!!!

During this hard time it was very exciting and uplifting to receive the news that the Bridgemill Sixes Service League has been awarded with the 2020 BEST of CANTON AWARDS in the category of COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION! Thank you to everyone who nominated us.

We have had to reschedule the Volley for a Cure tennis tournament, raising money for the American Cancer Society. The new proposed date is June 6, 2020. If it has to be rescheduled again, we will communicate that with you.

Our next monthly meeting is currently scheduled for May 21st at 7:00 P.M. The meeting is at the Terraces at Bridgemill. If you would like to attend the meeting as a guest, please contact Sally Peterson at 770-617-0640. We would love to see you.
