We hope to start on Monday, March 21 (based on course availability). Our tee times are reserved for LGA members. These times require a call to the Pro Shop by noon Sunday to get on the sheet… any times not filled will be released to the public. 770-3455500 x1 GOLF BUDDIES: The LGA communicates through our GOLF BUDDIES group on the GroupMe app. If you are not currently on Golf Buddies, simply download the GroupMe app, make sure your notifications are ON and look for our group to join. You can also contact Stacy or Vanessa at the numbers above and they will get you added. We post information, pictures and events with RSVP capabilities on Golf Buddies… Golf Buddies is your go to source for what is happening with the BridgeMill LGA!! Our LGA is a group of ladies that enjoy golf, friendships and fun. Golfers of all levels are welcome. We enjoy having a good time but we do play by USGA rules and pace of play is very important. Our golf pro, Denise Killeen, offers group and private golf lessons through the spring and summer.

WEDNESDAYS: We plan to have 9 hole play dates on Wednesdays starting at 5pm. We will alternate between regular 9 hole play and 9 hole game nights. Regular golf requires a RSVP to the Pro Shop and Game Nights require an RSVP through our Golf Buddies app. If you sign up then realize you cannot play, please cancel through the app so all golfers will be notified. TIPS FROM THE PROS AT GEORGIA GOLF PERFORMANCE

Center of the Green | Breaking 90

The flag is a mesmerizing target. It draws our focus and becomes the target, often when it shouldn’t. If you’re aiming to break 90, unless you’re greenside, ignore the flag and look for the center or largest part of the green. The place with the most room for error. “You’ve just got a short 30-yard pitch. But ignore the flag. It is there to tempt you to the bunker. Aim for the very center of the green”. The 15 – 40-yard short pitch shot is the most common final shot into the green for most golfers. “The common mistakes we see on this shot are backswings that are too long and a deceleration of the clubhead at impact; and attempts to scoop the ball.” Get this technique right. Many of you have seen pictures of open stance and ball position and get set up quite well. But the use of the wrists on the backswing and the downswing betrays a lack of confidence or poor understanding of the required technique for this shot. Let’s get you practicing the right technique.

Come back better | 20 hours to more joy and lower scores

If you’re shooting in the 90s then what if it took less than 20 hours of learning, practice, and feedback to get into the 80s? If we can help you sharpen just 4 skills: the half-wedge shot; the short pitch; the chip; and the greenside bunker shot, you could be turning double bogeys into bogeys or pars. You won’t be spoiling holes or frustrating yourself when you’ve been in a solid position.

“There’s a real power to standing within 50 yards of the flag and knowing you’re in control. And it’s intimidating for anyone you’re playing against. More importantly, you walk off more greens with a real satisfaction.”

Is there a plan for you?

Would an improvement in your short game deliver you the biggest improvement in enjoyment and quiet satisfaction this year? Let’s start a great journey. Book a Lesson with us GeorgiaGolfPerformance.com.

MGA PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE ……

It is with great honor to once again be elected President of the 2022 Bridgemill Men’s Golf Association. The 2021 Golf Season is in our rearview mirror. The MGA board, along with the help of the BMAC pro-shop, worked hard together to keep the 2021 schedule and formats moving forward. We adjusted our approach to post game scoring and fellowship and we had to “lighten” our approach to the 8” Cup for a Cause charity event. But overall, we had a successful year thanks to everyone’s flexibility and creativity. With approximately 180+ members strong, the MGA chaired 6 main events, an MGA Challenge Cup, several social events and an MGA season long match play format. Congratulations to all of our major winners in 2021 and to our MGA Player of the Year, Ed Zamorski. Just recently in January, the MGA and new Board voted the following as the 2022 Officers and Committee chairs. There were 9 open vacancies out of 12 this year. All requests were accepted without any challenges. Please welcome the following officers and board members for 2022. Officers President – Jack Quigley Vice President – Hank Hannon Treasurer – Bob Nitishin Secretary – Steve Arnold Committee Chairs Tournament Chair – Nick Brown Philanthropy – Dennis Bristol Todd Marovich – Philanthropy Phil VanFossen- Tournaments Communications – Derek MacArthur, Adam Trimborn Social/Membership – Jeff Webster, Rob McDonald As the MGA President, I am looking forward to some great changes in 2022. We have some new faces on the MGA Board this year which should translate into some fun events and needed changes to how we run tournaments. I am hopeful we have an early spring and a late fall so we can enjoy all the MGA events we have in store for this year. As of the writing of this message, the MGA already has one event in the books. The Iron Man event in January. We had great participation for the event despite the chilly temperatures to start. Our next Social Event will be on March 12th and have a St. Patrick’s Day theme which will be a BLAST! At the end of March, we will kick off our MGA Match Play season. Then around the corner from that, at the end of April, is the MGA’s premier event, the MGA Masters. A complete 2022 schedule and information can be found on the MGA website so check it out (https:// bmacmga.golfclub.net/cm/web/site/page.html). Many of you may not know but any BMAC membership level (Social, Tennis, Golf member, etc.) is eligible to join the Bridgemill MGA for only $50 a year and not just Golf Members. Simply email us at bridgemillmga@gmail.com and we will get you signed up! We have already added new members to our MGA membership for 2022 and are always encouraging new faces to join. Please encourage your fellow BMAC buddies to join a great group. The Board will always be fair and consistent in everything they do. We will be proactive on all of our communication by keeping you abreast of tournaments, social events and organizational updates. Join the 2022 MGA TODAY!

Highlights for 2022: - MGA Player of the Year has its own parking spot up for grabs. - 17 total events between MGA and BMAC. The MGA has 12! - Some fun formats planned – The Lucky 9, Devil’s Triangle, Captain’s Choice - Season long MGA Match Play and the Bridgemill/Lake Arrowhead MGA Challenge Cup Making the MGA work takes a huge commitment from the Board, our Pros, and the pro-shop who support our organization work hard to accommodate our tournaments. I encourage all of our MGA members to volunteer with the committees. Please reach out to a board member if interested. While golf is certainly not a primary focus in our day to day lives, it is most certainly a part of our time here at Bridgemill. A big thanks goes to the 2021 Board who provided the leadership we needed in 2021. If you have feedback for us, we want to hear it - all we ask is that you keep it constructive and give us a chance to act on it. Let’s all get excited about 2022, have some fun and I am wishing you all a safe and healthy Golf Season! Hit em Straight! Jack Quigley, 2022 Bridgemill MGA President

Format: Individual Flighted TwoDay Best Score per hole. Everyone wins - food, beer, and an awesome MGA tee gift. Who wants to wear the Green Jacket this year!! Must be BridgeMill MGA and BMAC Golf Member to participate. The 2022 MGA Masters will continue our tradition of a Champions Dinner. We invite all past MGA Master Champions to attend and proudly wear their MGA Masters Green Jackets. The menu will be selected by the 2021 Gross Champion, Kyle Gray and the 2021 Net Champion, Hank Hannon.
