It is performed in a circuit format that moves from cardio vascular machines to weight machines. Bring on the sunshine and dry warm days! Everyone should be ready to play a lot of golf in March! We are fully stocked with beautiful new Spring apparel here in the Golf Shop as well as all the new offerings from our club manufacturers. We currently have in stock the Titleist TS series woods, the new demo Ping G410, TaylorMade M5 & M6, and Callaway Epic Flash Drivers. Please feel free to stop in the golf shop and check out one of our Demo drivers to see if you can improve your game. If you would like a full bag fitting or an iron fitting, stop by the Academy on the range and see the staff at Georgia Golf Performance center to set up a time to go through a fitting. There are definitely new exciting irons and woods coming our way!

Coming in March is the first MGA social of the year. These are a lot of fun and a oneday event. Find a partner and sign up now on the MGA website. Also, on March 8th we will be having a demo day on the range which includes Taylor Made and Ping. On March 23rd we have a Bridgestone Ball fitting day and Srixon/Cleveland will be in attendance to fit you for some new wedges. Make plans to attend.

The goal of the Swim Team is to teach and enhance strokes of the participants, provide a healthy, competitive swimming environment and encourage positive team attitudes while having fun. Children must be able to swim the length of the pool and back to compete on the Swim Team. All parents are required to volunteer for at least three swim meets in order for their children to participate. Sign-ups for volunteering will be available during registration. A swim suit rep will be available for fitting and ordering a team suit during registration.

The courts are in high demand so one person per court, whether from a team or individual reservation, should check in with the Pro Shop prior to their reserved court time to verify their court usage and pay any guest fees. The tennis courts are for BridgeMill Athletic Club members and their guests only.

Accompanied guest fees are $10.00 per person. Athletic members and their guests are also required to pay the $10.00 per person court fee. Court fees should be paid before play.

These drills will focus on a different stroke or strategy each week. The sessions are ideal for C & B level players looking for instruction on stroke technique and game strategy.

TRIPLES NIGHT – Friday, April 12th – 7:00pm Ever wish you had an extra person on your court!!? Now’s your chance to try out this fun, fast paced game of Triples Tennis. Triples is a signature game that uses a format of 3 on 3, usually with one player at the net and two players at the baseline for each team. It’s fast moving as players rotate positions after every point. By using lower compression balls, points are long and competitive and makes for interesting, intense and fun competition. $15 per player – includes pizza and other refreshments

Players on BridgeMill league teams must be Tennis or Golf members in good standing. Captains must get approval from the Tennis Department before submitting a roster to the league. Posted in the Pro Shop is a list of players looking for teams and teams looking for players.

JUNIORS ACADEMY GROUP – Intermediate to Advanced -11 years & up

DEVELOPMENT GROUPS

This high energy group of players are playing high school tennis or tournaments or striving towards these goals. The Head Coach of this group is Jennifer Pouchier who is also the Head Coach for the Reinhardt University Tennis Teams. One unique benefit of this is that Academy players often get to hit and train with the college players! Players are divided by ability and age. Drills focus on proper strokes, footwork, fitness, strategy and mental toughness. This group meets throughout the school year. Monday and/or Wednesday 5:00pm to 7:00pm

The following groups focus on fundamentals of technique and how to play games. Age appropriate equipment is used for each age group.

EXCEL SUMMER TENNIS DAY CAMPS

Juniors will drill, play games and train in a fun atmosphere for 5 hours a day, 4 days in a row. Campers can’t help but improve their tennis games and they have a chance to make new tennis friends. Players also have a chance to cool off in the BridgeMill pool. All levels are welcome. Groups are divided by age and ability.

BRIDGEMILL SIXES SERVICE LEAGUE 2019 UPCOMING EVENTS by Molly Maher BridgeMill Sixes Service League (BSSL) met on January 17th for our organizational meeting for 2019. We talked about fundraisers, charities to support and things we accomplished in 2018. About 50 women met at the Terraces for a fun “get to know you” social with a game, food and wine. BSSL President Julie Rosenberg led the January meeting with news of our upcoming service projects and charities that the members have voted to help support. We have some fun mixed in with our fundraising though and the following events are on our spring list: WEDNESDAY, MARCH 13TH is set for our Ladies Day Excursion. We will be touring the Atlanta History Museum followed by lunch at the Swan House. If you have not been to either of these venues, they are an Atlanta tradition! Our April article will have additional information regarding our summer events: The MUST summer lunch program and Give a Kid a Chance backpacks. Many of our children in Cherokee County do not get lunch during the summer when school is not in session. Our club meets 4 times during the summer to make and pack lunches to be distributed through MUST ministries. Unfortunately, the funds are sometimes not enough to meet the need. If you would like to make a tax deductible contribution to be used for the Summer Lunch Program, please contact Susan Gaines at 305 510 5411. All money donated will be used only for this event in order to make healthy lunches for these children.
