LGA NEWS
April finished off on a high note for the BridgeMill LGA with our third annual Ryder Cup competition. Gaily decorated carts, cheerful music and lots of trash talked started our day of competition on a beautiful Saturday April 29. 28 ladies played a fierce competition to secure the coveted trophy and the winners were the BLUE TEAM!! Team Captain Jill Lain shared the glory with her teammates Robin, Denise, Diane, Susan, Amy, Gail, Jen, Jan, Karyn, Margie, Terry J, Patti Z, Sally and Terry O. The trophy will be engraved and proudly displayed in the Ladies Lounge this year…watch out!! RED WILL BE BACK!!
Our LGA is a group of ladies that enjoy golf, friendships and fun. Golfers of all levels are welcome. We enjoy having a good time but we do play by USGA rules and pace of play is very important. A handicap is required for our tournaments and game nights. Contact Karyn at 845.283.2964 to join us!

Kathy Espe
My name is Kathy Espe. My golf journey started with hitting a few balls while out with my husband Jeff and son Shawn, both good golfers. I joined a Par 3 group and I started learning. We joined BridgeMill to give us a place to practice and to make friends.

My goal is to continue improving my game and to learn how to play hole 7…GRRR! This is my first year of competitive golf. I joined the LGA and play with the LPGA Amateur Golf Association. Jeff and I travel to play golf.

Kim Ligon
Sue Westwood
My name is Sue Westwood and my husband, Bernard, and I have lived in BridgeMill for 8 years. Between us we have 5 children, 6 beautiful grandchildren and a cute Boston Terrier name Pete, I joined the LGA last year and have really enjoyed playing golf and getting to know all the ladies. Everyone is so friendly and supportive – we celebrate the good shots and laugh at the bad! I made my first birdie on hole 6 in April and my favorite holes are the par 3’s. My golf goal is to play more and establish a handicap to keep Robin and Jill happy.
My name is Kim Ligon. I have played golf off and on for years, but primarily scrambles and couples events. My kids, Kyle Gray and Meredith Wetherington both played golf in college. Clearly, golf is not an inherited skill! I have been married to Tim Ligon for 14 years and a member of BridgeMill since 2005. Now that I am retired, my goal to play more and improve my game. When I am not playing golf, I enjoy playing with my grandkids, tennis and pickleball.
Donna Ratliff
My name is Donna Ratliff…I grew up in Maryland around golf, but was not able to play much. I started playing with the LGA 2 years ago. Now that I am retired from Cherokee County Schools I am committed to more golf lessons and playing time. My golf goals include more practice and improving my handicap. My husband and I live on hole 7 so I hope to par it one day. My maiden name is Wilson so that is my favorite golf ball. My 9 wood is my sweet club. Outside of golf, I work part-time as a therapist. My husband and I have 2 children and 8 grandchildren that live nearby so life us busy!
