Steve and Kelly Rich moved from upstate New York to Bridgemill back in 2000 when most of the neighborhood had not even been built out! It didn’t take long for them to call it home. At the time they had three children, Nathan, Stevi Marie and Ansley. Three years later Tanner was born and completed their family.
The Rich’s have truly embraced all that Bridgemill offers. The pool, and playground were a big hit when the kids were young but eventually they began enjoying tennis and even an occasional game of golf. Steve began his company, Construction Mgmt. Services (C.M.S.) the same year they moved in and has enjoyed getting to know the community personally, as he works with homeowners to design out basements, decks, kitchen and bath remodels. He also helped form and served on the original HOA board for several years and then on the Architectural Control Committee.
They have truly made the Bridgemill community their home and even purchased the “little red schoolhouse” aka The Old Sixes School, a few years back and have enjoyed bringing the structure back to life. It currently serves as the office/show room for C.M.S.
Now, as empty nesters, Kelly continues her morning regime of frequenting the gym and it's been said that she’s coerced Steve into joining her mornings as well. One thing’s for sure, if she’s not at the gym, chances are she’s enjoying her latest passion, Pickleball. She’s thrilled that Bridgemill now offers 6 new courts and is quickly becoming well known for having the best court accommodations in the area. If you can’t find the Rich’s on a pickleball court in their spare time, it’s simply because they’re enjoying some family time and chances are it’s with their three Granddaughters that they can’t seem to get enough of.
Shelby has been a part of the elementary kid’s fitness program for many years and attends classes a few times a week. She enjoys coming to classes because she has fun exercising with her friends and because it helps her get in shape for softball. Her favorite exercise is push-ups, and her upper body strength has definitely improved. She is an excellent leader in class and likes to help out with demonstrating exercises and obstacle courses. It is a pleasure to have Shelby in this program.

April finished off on a high note for the BridgeMill LGA with our third annual Ryder Cup competition. Gaily decorated carts, cheerful music and lots of trash talked started our day of competition on a beautiful Saturday April 29. 28 ladies played a fierce competition to secure the coveted trophy and the winners were the BLUE TEAM!! Team Captain Jill Lain shared the glory with her teammates Robin, Denise, Diane, Susan, Amy, Gail, Jen, Jan, Karyn, Margie, Terry J, Patti Z, Sally and Terry O. The trophy will be engraved and proudly displayed in the Ladies Lounge this year…watch out!! RED WILL BE BACK!!
Our LGA is a group of ladies that enjoy golf, friendships and fun. Golfers of all levels are welcome. We enjoy having a good time but we do play by USGA rules and pace of play is very important. A handicap is required for our tournaments and game nights. Contact Karyn at 845.283.2964 to join us!
My name is Kathy Espe. My golf journey started with hitting a few balls while out with my husband Jeff and son Shawn, both good golfers. I joined a Par 3 group and I started learning. We joined BridgeMill to give us a place to practice and to make friends.
My goal is to continue improving my game and to learn how to play hole 7…GRRR! This is my first year of competitive golf. I joined the LGA and play with the LPGA Amateur Golf Association. Jeff and I travel to play golf.
My name is Sue Westwood and my husband, Bernard, and I have lived in BridgeMill for 8 years. Between us we have 5 children, 6 beautiful grandchildren and a cute Boston Terrier name Pete, I joined the LGA last year and have really enjoyed playing golf and getting to know all the ladies. Everyone is so friendly and supportive – we celebrate the good shots and laugh at the bad! I made my first birdie on hole 6 in April and my favorite holes are the par 3’s. My golf goal is to play more and establish a handicap to keep Robin and Jill happy.
My name is Kim Ligon. I have played golf off and on for years, but primarily scrambles and couples events. My kids, Kyle Gray and Meredith Wetherington both played golf in college. Clearly, golf is not an inherited skill! I have been married to Tim Ligon for 14 years and a member of BridgeMill since 2005. Now that I am retired, my goal to play more and improve my game. When I am not playing golf, I enjoy playing with my grandkids, tennis and pickleball.
My name is Donna Ratliff…I grew up in Maryland around golf, but was not able to play much. I started playing with the LGA 2 years ago. Now that I am retired from Cherokee County Schools I am committed to more golf lessons and playing time. My golf goals include more practice and improving my handicap. My husband and I live on hole 7 so I hope to par it one day. My maiden name is Wilson so that is my favorite golf ball. My 9 wood is my sweet club. Outside of golf, I work part-time as a therapist. My husband and I have 2 children and 8 grandchildren that live nearby so life us busy!

The 2023 Georgia Golf Performance Junior Developmental Tour is one of three key objective measuring tools we use in determining the placement of Team GGP juniors within the Performance Pathway.
The GGP Junior Tour was created to have a tournament our juniors can compete in to learn how to play tournaments in a safe, family-friendly environment. It also allows coaches to observe your junior in a tournament atmosphere, which helps in our coaching strategy.
Juniors compete at special yardages that are based on their developmental age and skill set. All ages are welcome to participate in the tournaments.

The staff also will be able to let you know if there have been any changes to your court number at this time. We are tracking court usage – who is playing and how many are using the courts. Please help by checking in before play!!
The tennis courts are for BridgeMill Athletic Club members and their guests only. Accompanied guest fees are $10.00 per person. Athletic members and their guests are also required to pay the $10.00 per person court fee. Court fees should be paid before play. Unaccompanied guests are not allowed to use the tennis courts.
The junior program at BridgeMill is designed to meet the needs of all our junior players starting at age 5 and up and recreational to advanced tournament players. The goal of our program is to instill a love for the game of tennis in our youth. We encourage and foster a healthy, active lifestyle that players carry with them throughout their lives. Our program is divided into categories based on ability and age. All programs focus on proper stroke development, footwork, fitness, strategy and mental toughness at an age and level appropriate manner.
5-6 years – This group is for our youngest juniors with little or no tennis experience. Our goal in the program is to help children learn and enjoy the game of tennis while improving their overall athletic skills. We focus on basic motor skills like throwing, catching, running, and jumping but also learn fundamental racket skills.
