Rules and Guidelines for this area include the Park Pavilion, open field, volleyball courts, basketball courts, and playground.

FAMILY FUN 05

• Parks and Playground areas are private Club property Members & Accompanied Guests are welcome.

• Parks and Playground areas close at Dark.

• Members are responsible for their child’s safety at all times.

• Adult supervision is required for all children under 12.

• Pets are not permitted in any sand areas. All pets must remain on-leash while on BridgeMill property.

• No bikes, skateboards, skates, etc. permitted under the Pavilion.

• Do not use sidewalk chalk underneath the Park Pavilion.

• No food and beverage is allowed on the basketball and volleyball courts except in plastic sports bottles.

• Baseballs, softballs and bats are not permitted in the park/ playground area, including the open field.

• No profanity is allowed.

• No running up the slides.

• The infant swings are for small children assisted by an adult.

• No sitting, walking or standing on the horizontal ladders.

• Do not jump out of swings.

• Keep small children away from the large children swings.

• Do not throw sand.

• No sitting or climbing on top of the slide towers.

• No hanging on the basketball rims.

• Glass is not permitted.

• Scooters, bicycles, strollers, skateboards, skates, chairs, vehicles, or similar equipment are not permitted on the basketball courts.

• BridgeMill's Park and surrounding areas are smoke-free.

• All trash must be disposed of in proper containers.

SUMMER FITNESS

CHALLENGE Tuesday June 1st - Saturday July 31st

3 Gift Basket Prizes valued at approximately $250 are up for grabs

Here’s how the Challenge works...

A member may choose ONE of the following challenges in which to participate.

FOR MEMBERS WHO LIKE CARDIO:

Members will track the total number of miles accumulated each time they use a piece of cardio equipment. It can be any type of cardio, Treadmill, elliptical, stepper or bike. We will have a white board near the front desk for members to post the total miles accumulated each week. The member who accumulates the most miles during the 60- day challenge will win and receive the Gift Basket of their choice.

FOR MEMBERS WHO LIKE GROUP FITNESS CLASSES:

Members must sign in each time they participate in a group fitness class. The member will use the sign-in sheet as their form of tracking. A white board will be near the front desk for the member to post the total number of classes they participated in each week. The member who participates in the most classes during the 60-day challenge will win and receive a Gift Basket of their choice.

FOR MEMBERS WHO HAVE GUESTS:

Members will use the registration form at the front desk to sign in their guests each time they come.

There is a (2) person limit for each visit and the guest/s will be charged on the member account. A white board will be near the front desk for the member to post the total number of guests brought in each week. The member who brings the most guests during the 60-day challenge will win and receive the Gift Basket of their choice.

In case of a tie members will be put into a drawing to choose a winner.

HEALTHY LIVING GROUP FITNESS CLASSES ARE FREE CIRCUIT TRAINING with Mark Hutton - Tuesdays 12pm in the Cardio/Weight Room. This 30 minute full body workout is performed in a circuit format that moves from cardiovascular machines to weight machines. It is designed for all fitness levels to tone muscles and increase meta-bolic function for more calories burned over a longer period of time.

CARDIO KICKBOXING Mondays 9:00am

A fun, energetic class that combines choreographed movements of punches, kicks and knee strikes set to the latest music. Expect a full body workout that engages every muscle group, torches calories, build s lean muscle and improves flexibility, balance and coordination.

H.I.I.T. BLAST Wednesdays 9:15am

High intensity interval training helps you be more efficient in less time. Short bursts of intense exercise followed by short recovery breaks. Bodyweight exercises, plyometrics, and other training techniques maybe used.

BARRE/PILATES FUSION

Wednesdays 5:30pm This full body conditioning class combines the fundamental principles of both Barre and Pilates. Each class will work to balance all muscle groups’ strength and flexibility, with an emphasis on sculpting long, lean muscles while challenging the core with each movement.

This low impact class is great for all ages and fitness levels.

This moderate to high intensity workout combines 3 rounds of 10 cardiovascular exercises with body weight and strength exercises to burn substantial calories, and strengthen all major muscle groups.

24 HOUR FITNESS CENTER ACCESS 24 Hour Surveillance System Monitors All Activities in the Fitness Center Fitness Center Regular Business Hours: 6am-10pm FITNESS CENTER ACCESS RULES • ONLY active members in good standing 18 years of age or older are allowed in the Fitness Center AFTER regular business hours.

• Teens 15-17 years of age are allowed in the Fitness Center during regular business hours ONLY (6am-10pm).

• Youths 11-14 years of age are allowed during regular business hours ONLY (6am10pm) and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18.

• Only direct family members active on the membership and 15 years of age or older may utilize the same access card.

Just to let all of you know, gloves and balls may be hard to get this Summer. So if you are in need and we have what you are looking for, I would buy it when you see it. Titleist Prov1 & Prov1x are in the shop, and Callaways may be hard to come by this year.

LGA NEWS by Molly Maher June is the month of warmer days, cool evenings and lots of activities! We love the longer days, especially on Wednesday’s so the ladies golf group at BridgeMill can have fun with our Nine and Wine. Every Wednesday, we kick off about 5pm for 9 holes of friendly golf followed by drinks and dinner for anyone that can stay for a visit. We like to meet on the outdoor space upstairs from the Pro Shop. Every few weeks, we have a game night which just adds to fun with prizes and a little competition. Watch Golf Buddies for the most current upcoming events.

June 6th will be our FIRST Working Women’s 9 hole playdate for any ladies that cannot make our Wednesday events. We have tee times for 3, 3:10, 3:20 and 3:30 for this first Sunday event! Several ladies mentioned they would like a weekend play time due to work or family obligations during the week.

This will be a great time to work on establishing a handicap also!

Call the pro shop at 770-345-5500 option 1 to sign up for June 6th. These tee times are open to all ladies so sign up with a friend or two! Featherstone’s will not be open after play, but bring a drink to enjoy… we will meet at the tables outside the pro shop for a visit and to discuss if we want to do this on a regular basis.

June 9th will be our “3 by 3 Game Night”… different holes will have different rules. Some holes will be a scramble, some holes will be an individual best net and some will be alternating shots with your partner!

June 23rd will be our “Tin Cup Challenge”… make sure your favorite club is in your bag for this one. OH! You might be a little dizzy with our proximity contest… just so you know!

A little recap of our April events: Saturday, April 17th was the first tournament of the season… fondly called the Spring Fling tournament. We headed out with 9:30 tee times to dance the Cha, Cha, Cha. A fun format using best net score on 1, 2nd best score on 2 etc. Our teams were made up with ABCD players to keep all skill levels even. The fun ramped up on par 3’s when frisbees and softball bats came into play!! We followed our 18 hole event with a soup and salad lunch at Featherstone’s, a cocktail or two and great prizes.

First place winners were Robin Roper, Amy Davidson, Sally Peterson and Diane Voss. Second place winners were Missie Kisker, Joyce Gonzenbach, Carla Cummings and Amy Boehm.

Third place winners were Miyako Fletcher, Molly Maher, Kelly Cook and Susan Moffa. Closest to the pin on 8 was Kelly Cook and closest to the pin on 12 was Molly Maher Wednesday April 28th was a fun game night organized by Kelly Cook and it was attended by 18 ladies! The format was our popular string tournament where each participant was given 5’ of string to extend any shot to better their score. Scoring ties were broken by the amount of string left over.

First place winners were Stacy Propes, Amy Boehm and Liz Gallogly. Second place winners were Kelly Cook, Carla Cummings and Sally Peterson. Third place winners were Missie Kisker, Amy Davidson and Diana Downey. Closest to the pin on #5 was Liz Gallogly and on hole #8 was Karen DiBella. We also honored Susan Moffa for her first birdie EVER and it was at BridgeMill!!

Some new faces were on the leaderboard along with some of the usual names on top. Congratulations to our Overall Gross and Net Champions – Kyle Gray and Hank Hannon! In the Overall Gross Championship, Kyle Gray’s 61 bested Ed Zamorski’s 65 and Darryl Fulton’s 67 for a sizable victory. However, it was a tight race for the Overall Net Championship as Hank Hannon’s Net 63 narrowly eclipsed a handful of his closest overall competitors who all shot an impressive Net 64. EXCEL JUNIOR TENNIS ACADEMY The junior program at BridgeMill is designed to meet the needs of all our junior players starting at age 5 and up and recreational to advanced tournament players. The goal of our program is to instill a love for the game of tennis in our youth.

We encourage and foster a healthy, active lifestyle that players carry with them throughout their lives. Our program is divided into categories based on ability and age. All programs focus on proper stroke development, footwork, fitness, strategy and mental toughness at an age and level appropriate manner. 5-6 years – This group is for our youngest juniors with little or no tennis experience. Our goal in the program is to help children learn and enjoy the game of tennis while improving their overall athletic skills. We focus on basic motor skills like throwing, catching, running and jumping but also learn fundamental racket skills.

Juniors drill, play games and train in a fun atmosphere for 5 hours a day, 4 days in a row. Campers cannot help but improve their tennis game and they have a chance to make new tennis friends. Players also have a chance to cool off in the BridgeMill pool. All levels are welcome. Groups are divided by age and ability. For juniors 7-17 years.

Monday & Wednesday – 8:30-9:15 am Session 1 – June 7-June 23 | Session 2 – July 12-July 28 $80/Tennis & Golf member | $90/Athletic member 7-10 years - These classes are for juniors with little or no tennis experience.

We focus on developing athletic skills, fundamental stokes and learning how to play points and keep score.

Players will be taught every shot, how to score, how to play a match. This group is a great beginning for those aspiring to play on their high school teams and know what they are doing.

BRIDGEMILL SIXES SERVICE LEAGUE The Lexine Harper Community Service Textbook Scholarship is dedicated to the memory of our friend and fellow BSSL member, Lexine Harper.

Each year, the BSSL awards two scholarships to qualified graduating students who have committed themselves to service of others in the community within Cherokee County High Schools.

This year, The Lexine Harper Scholarship has been awarded to two outstanding students in the amount of $1,000 each. It wasn’t easy choosing these two applicants as there were quite a few outstanding students.

The first winner is Alexandra-Anne Rodkey. She is a graduate of Cherokee high school. She will be attending the University of Georgia with a major in Management Information Systems with a certification in Nonprofit Management and Leadership. The second winner is

Noah Fornuto. He is a graduate of River Ridge High School.

He will be attending the University of Georgia and he will have a major in Criminal Justice.

Both students have spent countless hours providing service to their schools and to their community and both excel in academics and extracurricular activities.
