PARK & PLAYGROUND RULES AND SAFETY GUIDELINES Rules and Guidelines for this area include the Park Pavilion, open field, volleyball courts, basketball courts, and playground.

How much physical activity do you need?

Here are the American Heart Association recommendations for adults.

Fit in 150+ Get at least 150 minutes per week of moderate-intensity aerobic activity or 75 minutes per week of vigorous aerobic activity (or a combination of both), preferably spread throughout the week.

Move More, Sit Less Get up and move throughout the day. Any activity is better than none. Even light-intensity activity can offset the serious health risks of being sedentary.

Add Intensity Moderate to vigorous aerobic exercise is best. Your heart will beat faster, and you’ll breathe harder than normal. As you get used to being more active, increase your time and/or intensity to get more benefits.

Add Muscle Include moderate- to high-intensity muscle-strengthening activity (like resistance or weight training) at least twice a week.

Feel Better Physical activity is one of the best ways to keep your body and brain healthy.

It relieves stress, improves mood, gives you energy, helps with sleep and can lower your risk of chronic disease, including dementia and depression.

GROUP FITNESS CLASSES LABLAST Mon and Fri 10:30am. LaBlast is a

ballroom dance inspired dance fitness program created

by Louis Von Amstel - former Dancing with the Stars pro and world champion. It is partner-free and accessible for all levels of participants. You can be a seasoned ballroom dancer or an absolute newbie.

ULTIMATE BODY BURN Tue 9:00am.

This heart pumping, strength conditioning, interval-based class combines full-body strength training exercises with high intensity cardio bursts designed to tone your body and improve your endurance.

BARRE/PILATES FUSION Tue 10:30am.

This full body conditioning class combines the fundamental principles of both Barre and Pilates. Each class will work to balance all muscle groups’ strength and flexibility, with an emphasis on sculpting long, lean muscles while challenging the core with each movement. This low impact class is great for all ages and fitness levels.

CIRCUIT TRAINING Tue 12:00pm.

This 30 minute full body workout in the Cardio/Weight Room is performed in a circuit format that moves from cardiovascular machines to weight machines. It is designed for all fitness levels to tone muscles and increase metabolic function for more calories burned over a longer period of time.

FUNCTIONAL FITNESS Wed 10:30am.

This class will train your muscles to work together to prepare the body for daily tasks, and real-life activities by simulating common movement patterns of daily living like squatting, reaching, pulling and lifting. Participants will see and feel improvement in strength, balance/coordination, power, range of motion, and mobility. ALL FITNESS LEVELS

YOGA Wed 6pm | Thu 10:30am. This class will

consist of a thorough warm-up followed by sequences and postures that build heat and strength in the body then will close with cooling and calming postures to leave you feeling balanced and renewed.

TAI CHI Thu 11:30am. Tai chi is a series of gentle

physical exercises and stretches. Each posture flows into the next without pause, ensuring that your body is in constant motion. Tai Chi will improve leg strength, balance, and the body's ability to work as a unit. Tai Chi will also help to reduce pain and stress - both physical and mental, improve the immune and circulatory function, and provide you an overall feeling of wellness.

• Teens 15-17 years of age are allowed in the Fitness Center during regular business hours ONLY (6am-10pm).

• Youths 11-14 years of age are allowed during regular business hours ONLY (6am-10pm) and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18.

• Only direct family members active on the membership and 15 years of age or older may utilize the same access card.

• Access cards are linked to the membership in order to track member usage and safety.

• Each member must swipe their own card.

• Door will lock after each entrance and exit.

• Members are not permitted to open the door for another person’s access into the Fitness Center.

• All members should be prepared to show their 24 hour access card at any time while in the Fitness Center.

Bryson DeChambeau (2nd on the FedExCup standings) is only 60th on the list of strokes gained on the green but is 1st for the equivalent stat off the tee. And did you know Dustin Johnson (1st on the FedExCup standings) is 65th on his putting stat, while in the top 10 for strokes gained off the tee?

They both get far enough off the tee to have a chance of hitting the green from wherever they finish off the tee. Their tee-to-green statistics are especially impressive.

Saturday, December 11 was the very popular Par 3 Christmas tournament and party. 20 ladies started the day with a light breakfast hosted by the LGA committee. We headed out on a beautiful morning to have fun playing a par three from very unconventional tee boxes (thanks to Kelly and Hank Cook!). We gathered in the beautifully decorated Wine Room after play for a delicious plated lunch, cocktails, prizes and an ornament exchange. The registration period for all Summer ALTA rosters begins March 22 and the deadline is April 12. This includes Adult Mixed Doubles, Senior (45+) Men & Women. These leagues begin match play in June.

Players on BridgeMill league teams must be Tennis or Golf members in good standing.

Captains must get approval from the Tennis Department before submitting a roster to the league. Posted in the Pro Shop is a list of players looking for teams and teams looking for players. Call the Pro Shop if you want your information on this list.

IMPORTANT FRIENDLY REMINDER Please check in with the Pro Shop Attendant prior to play. The courts are in high demand so one person per court, whether from a team or individual reservation, should check in with the Pro Shop prior to their reserved court time to verify their court usage and pay any guest fees. The staff also will be able to let you know if there have been any changes to your court number at this time. The tennis courts are for BridgeMill Athletic Club members and their guests only. Accompanied guest fees are $10 per person. Athletic members and their guests are also required to pay the $10 per person court fee. Court fees should be paid before play. Unaccompanied guests are not allowed to use the tennis courts.

ALTA MIXED DOUBLES CITY FINALS BridgeMill will be hosting ALTA Mixed Doubles City Finals on March 12 with a rain date of March 13. We will have 4 different levels (levels TBD) playing at BridgeMill with matches starting at 1:00 pm. Matches should finish up by 6:00 pm. ALTA will be using 10 hard courts.

EXCEL JUNIOR TENNIS ACADEMY The junior program at BridgeMill is designed to meet the needs of all our junior players starting at age 5 and up and recreational to advanced tournament players. The goal of our program is to instill a love for the game of tennis in our youth. We encourage and foster a healthy, active lifestyle that players carry with them throughout their lives. Our program is divided into categories based on ability and age. EXCEL FUTURE STARS DEVELOPMENT GROUPS 5-6 years – This group is for our youngest juniors with little or no tennis experience. Our goal in the program is to help children learn and enjoy the game of tennis while improving their overall athletic skills.

We focus on basic motor skills like throwing, catching, running, and jumping but also learn fundamental racket skills.

7-10 years - These classes are for juniors with little or no tennis experience. We focus on developing athletic skills, fundamental strokes and learning how to play points and keep score.

EXCEL ACADEMY The Academy group is for players with some tennis experience to advanced players, ages & up, who are committed to improving their game. We also include 11–16-year-old beginner players in this group. This high energy group of players is striving to play tournaments, high school tennis or working to get a college scholarship. The Head Coach of the academy is Jennifer Pourchier who is also the Head Coach for the Reinhardt University tennis teams. One unique benefit of this is that Academy players often get to hit and train with the college players! Players are divided by ability level and age.
