Rules and Guidelines for this area include the Park Pavilion, open field, volleyball courts, basketball courts, and playground.

• Parks and Playground areas are private Club property Members & Accompanied Guests are welcome.

• Parks and Playground areas close at Dark.

• Members are responsible for their child’s safety at all times.

• Adult supervision is required for all children under 12.

• Pets are not permitted in any sand areas. All pets must remain on-leash while on BridgeMill property.

• No bikes, skateboards, skates, etc. permitted under the Pavilion.

• Do not use sidewalk chalk underneath the Park Pavilion.

• No food and beverage is allowed on the basketball and volleyball courts except in plastic sports bottles.

• Baseballs, softballs and bats are not permitted in the park/ playground area, including the open field.

• No profanity is allowed.

• No running up the slides.

• The infant swings are for small children assisted by an adult.

• No sitting, walking or standing on the horizontal ladders.

• Glass is not permitted.

HEALTHY LIVING GROUP FITNESS CLASSES CARDIO KICKBOXING: Mondays 9:00am

A fun, energetic class that combines choreographed movements of punches, kicks and knee strikes set to the latest music. Expect a full body workout that engages every muscle group, torches calories, build s lean muscle and improves flexibility, balance and coordination.

LOW IMPACT Mondays 10:30am

This moderate intensity class combines low impact cardio and strength exercises with core and stretching for a fun total body workout. Suitable for all fitness levels.

FITNESS INFERNO: Tuesdays 8:15am

This moderate to high intensity workout combines 3 rounds of 10 cardiovascular exercises with body weight and strength exercises to burn substantial calories, and strengthen all major muscle groups.

FUNCTIONAL FITNESS: Tuesdays 10:30am Senior fitness class focuses on fitting exercise and physical activity in to daily living.

H.I.I.T. BLAST: Wednesdays 9:15am

High intensity interval training helps you be more efficient in less time. Short bursts of intense exercise followed by short recovery breaks. Bodyweight exercises, plyometrics, and other training techniques maybe used.

BARRE/PILATES FUSION: Wednesdays 10:30am

This full body conditioning class combines the fundamental principles of both Barre and Pilates. Each class will work to balance all muscle groups’ strength and flexibility, with an emphasis on sculpting long, lean muscles while challenging the core with each movement. This low impact class is great for all ages and fitness levels.

LABLAST: Fridays 10:30am

LaBlast is a ballroom dance inspired dance fitness program created by Louis Von Amstel - former Dancing with the Stars pro and world champion. It is partner-free and accessible for all levels of participants. You can be a seasoned ballroom dancer or an absolute newbie.

This is an introductory program facilitated by a certified personal trainer and designed to educate our youth on fitness center etiquette, equipment use and proper form on equipment in the CARDIO/WEIGHT ROOM ONLY. This program prepares our youth for future independent training.

GOLF NEWS Happy Fall from the Ladies Golf Group! The cooler temps are encouraging us to get out and play more golf. October 17-18 was the Ladies Club Championship weekend. 12 ladies were broken down to two flights to enjoy golf, friendship and a chance to win a great competition.

The 2020 Ladies Club Championship winner is Kelly Cook! The 2020 low net winner is Vanessa Mullen!

November started out strong with Nine and Wine on November 1. We played 9 holes of golf then were treated to a wine tasting hosted by Jessica Butcher representing Scout & Cellar wines. It was a fun golf day and Jessica gave a very informative talk regarding ‘clean’ wines. GGP PATHWAY TO PERFORMANCE JUNIOR PROGRAM Year-Round Coaching - Join our Winter Junior Program At Georgia Golf Performance our goal is to instill a love of the game of golf in your child by creating a fun, safe, and interactive learning environment. Our winter program concentrates on correct golf fundamentals and experiential learning through drills, golf games, on-course sessions and athletic development training.

2020 RACE TO PLAYER OF THE YEAR As part of the GGP Junior Tournament series, we hold a year-long tournament race for the juniors who participate in our tournaments. GOLF NEWS MGA NEWS YOU CAN USE… by Jeff Graham, MGA Board Communications Chair BRIDGEMILL WINS 2020 MGA CHALLENGE CUP THANKS TEAM CAPTAIN JACK QUIGLEY! (Written by Team Captain Jack Quigley) It's official! The BridgeMill MGA wins the 5th Annual MGA Challenge Cup versus Lake Arrowhead and retains The Cup. This is the 4th victory out of the last 5 years and the first year we won at home due to some great golf on Sunday at BridgeMill! We flipped the 9's at home this year so we could set up to watch teams come into the 9th green and it made for some exciting viewing.

After day 1 best ball and alternate shot at Lake Arrowhead, both MGA's were tied at 11 points heading into Sunday. The morning format on day 2 at BridgeMill was a scramble and the BridgeMill MGA came away with a 3 point lead (7 - 4) heading into the afternoon singles matches. We needed those 3 points too, because the Lake Arrowhead team managed to overcome that deficit and took the lead after securing 10 points to our 6 points in 16 of the first 22 singles matches. BridgeMill was down 1 with the last 3 anchor matches still come and the BridgeMill MGA team delivered! Graham/ Graves, Brown/Chattin and Fulton/ Lahmann took 5 of the last 6 available points to propel us to victory. Final Score: BridgeMill 29 – Lake Arrowhead 26!

We had some all-star out performances on Sunday. Graham/Graves was the only team to grab all 3 Sunday points. Great job Chris and Jeff … Shake & Bake! We had a lot of guys like John B, Nick B, John Foster, Ricky Haynes, Darryl F, Quigley, McCulloch and Chris Chattin go low just when we needed it in the single matches. Other highlights include: Nick's birdie on 8 to take a one up lead going to the last and getting a point. Jeff G’s long putt from off the green on 9 to a few feet to secure his point. Chris G, down 3 after 4 holes and storming back to get the point. Todd M getting the last 2 holes to grab a 1/2 point.

This year's handicap requirement kept that matches closer than usual, so I think that was a positive change. A big thank you to Bob Nitishin for taking the day to help set the course up and keep the groups moving. Troy/Denise - as usual, thanks for all the help! I heard nothing but great things from the Lake Arrowhead team about how well the event was run and what a great finishing experience on hole 9 – something we will definitely do in the future. It was an awesome weekend! The new MGA season will start in January and earning MGA Player of the Year points is the way to play onto the team for 2021. Get out there and play!

ALTA LEAGUE DEADLINES The registration period for all Spring ALTA rosters begins January 1 and the deadline is January 20, 2021. This includes Men, Thursday Women, Weekend Women, Senior Day and Junior leagues.

These leagues begin match play in March.

Players on BridgeMill league teams must be Tennis or Golf members in good standing.

EXCEL JUNIOR TENNIS ACADEMY The junior program at BridgeMill is designed to meet the needs of all our junior players starting at age 5, recreational to advanced tournament players. The goal of the program is to instill a love for the game of tennis in our youth. We encourage and foster a healthy, active lifestyle that players carry with them throughout their lives. Our program is divided into categories based on ability and age. All programs focus on proper stroke development, footwork, fitness, strategy and mental toughness at an age and level appropriate manner. EXCEL FUTURE STARS DEVELOPMENT GROUPS Registration begins in January 5-6 years – This group is for our youngest juniors with little or no tennis experience. Our goal in the program is to help children learn and enjoy the game of tennis while improving their overall athletic skills. We focus on basic motor skills like throwing, catching, running, jumping and learn fundamental racket skills.

7-10 years – This group is for juniors with little or no tennis experience. We focus on developing athletic skills, stroke fundamentals and learning how to play points and keep score.

11-16 years – This group is for players with little or no experience. Players will be taught every shot, how to keep score, how to play a match. This group is great for those aspiring to play on their high school teams and know what they are doing.

EXCEL ACADEMY The Academy group is for intermediate to advanced players, ages 10 & up, who are committed to improving their game. This high energy group of players is striving to play tournaments, high school tennis or working to get a college scholarship. The Head Coach of the academy is Jennifer Pourchier who is also the Head Coach for the Reinhardt University tennis teams. One unique benefit of this is that Academy players often get to hit and train with the college players! Players are divided by ability level and age. Drills focus on proper stroke technique, footwork, fitness, strategy, and mental toughness. The group meets Monday and/or Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 pm. This program runs throughout the school year. Check with the Tennis Pro Shop for class schedule, pricing, and available space.

HALLOWEEN TENNIS SCRAMBLE Big shout out to Deb Masdea and Nicole Shippy for organizing an awesome Halloween tennis event! 48 women dressed in Halloween costumes played in the event. A silent Pumpkin Auction, Lucky Let sales, Candy Corn Guess & Tennis Towel sales raised over $1100.00 for the American Cancer Society.

Instead of launching your used or bad tennis balls out of the court please drop them off at the Pro Shop or leave them on the tray by the scorekeepers to be recycled. Old tennis balls have a multitude of uses after their tennis life has expired. Teachers, boaters & dog lovers are always calling us for old tennis balls. Plus, tennis balls do not disintegrate into the ground so to be kind to the earth please help us recycle tennis balls.

All meetings and activities continue to remain on hold until further notice. We hope you and your family enjoyed a festive Thanksgiving.

We had a phenomenally successful Food Drive, benefiting MUST Ministries and Papa’s Pantry. Many thanks to all that participated by food donations. A special thanks to Ruth Clark, Debbie Joseph, and Michelle Kibby for chairing this important event.

We are continuing to collect $25 Target Gift cards to benefit the Angel House of North Georgia and the Cherokee County Homeless Veterans. These cards will be presented before Christmas Eve.
