WELCOME NEW MEMBERS

Rules and Guidelines for this area include the Park Pavilion, open field, volleyball courts, basketball courts, and playground.

Parks and Playground areas close at Dark.

Users are responsible for their child’s safety at all times.

Adult supervision is required for all children under 12.

Pets are not permitted in any sand areas. All pets must remain onleash while on BridgeMill property.

No bikes, skateboards, skates, etc. permitted under the Pavilion.

NO scooters, bicycles strollers etc etc permitted on basketball courts.

Do not use sidewalk chalk underneath the Park Pavilion.

No food and beverage is allowed on the basketball and volleyball courts except in plastic sports bottles.

NO baseballs, softballs, bats permitted in the park, playground, pavilion or open field areas.

NO organized sports practices permitted in the park, pavilion or open field areas NO organized workouts or groups without a reservation or party No profanity is allowed.

No running up the slides.

The infant swings are for small children assisted by an adult.

No sitting, walking or standing on the horizontal ladders.

Do not jump out of swings.

KID FIT MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Annaleigh & William Watson

The Kidfit Spotlight stars for the month of August are Annaleigh and William Watson. They have been participating in the elementary fitness program for over a year, and they both show much enthusiasm for fitness. They come to class with positive attitudes, big smiles and always ready to have fun and work hard to get "kidfit strong." They get along well with others and demonstrate respect and kindness. Annaleigh's favorite exercise is squats while William loves push-ups and jumping jacks. Annaleigh enjoys kidfit classes because they make her strong, and she likes to make new friends. William enjoys coming to classes because Coach Holly teaches him new exercises, and he has fun! It has been wonderful to have Annaleigh and William as a part of our kids fitness program. They are learning the basics of exercise and nutrition at a young age to help foster a lifetime of healthy habits.

B-FIT MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Burke Family

Michael and Bonnie moved to BridgeMill in November 2003. Over the years, the Burke family has actively participated in golf, tennis, the fitness center (including a variety of classes and personal training with Mark Hutton), and pickleball. They spent many summers at the pool with friends. Bonnie is a former member/Board member of the BridgeMill Sixes Service League, but their service to the community included the whole family. Mitchell and Carly attended Liberty Elementary, Freedom Middle School and Cherokee High School, where Carly is now a rising junior. Mitchell just graduated from CHS and is off to the University of Georgia. They believe this has been a great neighborhood to raise a family and continue to enjoy the all amenities BridgeMill has to offer.

A fun age-appropriate fitness program filled with heart happy games, obstacle courses, bodyweight exercises and age-appropriate nutritional information.

Monday - Thursday | 3:30pm to 4:15pm | K-5th Grade | $10 per class per child

Introductory program facilitated by a certified personal trainer and designed to educate our youth on fitness center etiquette, equipment use and proper form on equipment in the CARDIO/WEIGHT ROOM ONLY. Participants will learn respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, body awareness and self-confidence. Participants will gain muscle, strength, endurance, speed, agility, flexibility and preparation for future independent training.

Mondays & Wednesdays 4:45pm to 5:30pm | 6th - 8th grade | $10 per class per child

Dancers will learn all the basic ballet positions and steps as well as fun hip hop moves.

This program helps dancers with self-confidence, problem-solving skills, mental flexibility, creativity, physical dexterity, coordination and teamwork skills. There will be three choreographed dance recitals performed throughout the year.

Participants, please bring ballet and tennis shoes, wear comfortable clothing and hair tied back. For safety purposes no in class viewing. Please bring a water bottle. Noshows will be billed. $10 per class per child. Class is limited to 12 participants.

If you’re looking to create lean, strong arms and abs, toned, shapely backs, booties and thighs this low impact total body workout is for you. LABLAST

Fridays 10:30am LaBlast is a ballroom dance inspired dance fitness program created by Louis Von Amstel - former Dancing with the Stars pro and world champion. It is partner-free and accessible for all levels of participants. You can be a seasoned ballroom dancer or an absolute newbie.

This full body conditioning class combines the fundamental principles of both Barre and Pilates. Congratulations to a few members that have won, played well lately in tournaments. Vanessa Mullen won the LGA Shootout Championship, defeating Stacy Propes in the Shootout. TH Marovich (16 years old) won the Hurricane Junior Tour event played at Bridgemill. TH, birdied the second playoff to take home the hardware. Mackenzie Morris (9 years old) also won her flight in the Hurricane Junior tour event, by a mere 17 shots. Connor MacMillan (sophomore at Georgia State) finished solo third in the Georgia State Amateur, then turned around a few days after and qualified for one of the biggest Amateur events, The Southern Amateur.

Hi, my name is Amy Davidson. My husband, Steve, and I have been married for 37 years. We have 3 kids, one son in law and 2 grandkids. We have been member of BMAC since 2003.

I joined the LGA on 2022 and have really enjoyed getting to know the ladies both on and off the course. As we move toward retirement, Steve and I look forward to playing different courses.

My goals for this year to to not use the same club twice in a row, except my putter. I want to hit each shot long enough that I have to get back into the cart for my next shot LOL!

LEARN-TO-PLAY TENNIS FOR ADULTS & JUNIORS Learn-to-Play Tennis is designed to teach adult and junior beginners the basic skills needed to start playing tennis quickly! This program is convenient, affordable, and is for individuals who are new to tennis and have little to no prior experience. After our 4-week program you’ll be able participate in the most fun way to make friends, burn calories, and stay active! This program is open to members & nonmembers and is free of charge!

Our sessions are designed to be fun and interactive while teaching proper technique and building a strong fundamental base. By the end of the program, players will have covered all the basic ground strokes and volleys and will have progressed in their ability to put them all together.

FRIENDLY REMINDER – WE NEED YOU TO CHECK IN! Please check in with the Pro Shop Attendant prior to play. The courts are in high demand so one person per court, whether from a team or individual reservation, should check in with the Pro Shop prior to their reserved court time to verify their court usage and pay any guest fees. The staff also will be able to let you know if there have been any changes to your court number at this time. We are tracking court usage – who is playing and how many are using the courts. Please help by checking in before play!! The tennis courts are for BridgeMill Athletic Club members and their guests only.

Accompanied guest fees are $10.00 per person. Athletic members and their guests are also required to pay the $10.00 per person court fee. Court fees should be paid before play. Unaccompanied guests are not allowed to use the tennis courts.

TENNIS NEWS EXCEL JUNIOR TENNIS ACADEMY The junior program at BridgeMill is designed to meet the needs of all our junior players starting at age 5 and up and recreational to advanced tournament players. The goal of our program is to instill a love for the game of tennis in our youth. We encourage and foster a healthy, active lifestyle that players carry with them throughout their lives. Our program is divided into categories based on ability and age. All programs focus on proper stroke development, footwork, fitness, strategy and mental toughness at an age and level appropriate manner.

EXCEL FUTURE STARS – DEVELOPMENT GROUPS

ACADEMY GROUP

5-6 years – This group is for our youngest juniors with little or no tennis experience. Our goal in the program is to help children learn and enjoy the game of tennis while improving their overall athletic skills. We focus on basic motor skills like throwing, catching, running and jumping but also learn fundamental racket skills.

7-10 years - These classes are for juniors with little or no tennis experience. We focus on developing athletic skills, fundamental strokes and learning how to play points and keep score.

The Academy group is for players with some tennis experience to advanced players, ages 8 & up, who are committed to improving their game. We also include 11–16-year-old beginner players in this group.

This high energy group of players is striving to play tournaments, high school tennis or working to get a college scholarship. The Head Coach of the academy is Jennifer Pourchier who is also the Head Coach for the Reinhardt University tennis teams. One unique benefit of this is that Academy players often get to hit and train with the college players! Players are divided by ability level and age. Drills focus on proper stroke technique, footwork, fitness, strategy, and mental toughness. The group meets Monday and/or Wednesday from 5PM to 7PM. This program will resume in late August & continue throughout the school year. New players can be added anytime if space is available.

Pickleball is a great sport that can be enjoyed by the whole family!! BridgeMill has 6 lighted pickleball courts in the tennis area. These courts are being managed by the Tennis/Rackets Department. The courts are for BMAC members and accompanied guests only.

Please always check in at the Pro Shop before play. Court fees must be paid prior to play.

Pickleball/Tennis/Golf members – No court fee / Athletic members & accompanied guests - $10.00/player Pickleball/Tennis/Golf members may make court reservations up to three days in advance. Athletic members may reserve a court 1 day in advance. Players are allotted 1.5 hours for free play. The courts next to the fitness center are no longer available for play.

These courts have been repurposed as a multi-sport area mainly for kids activities but will be used for other fitness classes as well.
