BRIDGEMILL PARK & PLAYGROUND RULES AND SAFETY GUIDELINES Rules and Guidelines for this area include the Park Pavilion, open field, volleyball courts, basketball courts, and playground.

Parks and Playground areas are private Club property Members & Accompanied Guests are welcome.

Parks and Playground areas close at Dark.

Members are responsible for their child’s safety at all times.

Adult supervision is required for all children under 12.

Pets are not permitted in any sand areas. All pets must remain on-leash while on BridgeMill property.

No bikes, skateboards, skates, etc. permitted under the Pavilion.

No food and beverage is allowed on the basketball and volleyball courts except in plastic sports bottles.

Baseballs, softballs and bats are not permitted in the park/ playground area, including the open field.

No profanity is allowed.

No running up the slides.

The infant swings are for small children assisted by an adult.

No sitting, walking or standing on the horizontal ladders.

Do not jump out of swings.

Keep small children away from the large children swings.

Do not throw sand.

No sitting or climbing on top of the slide towers.

No hanging on the basketball rims.

Glass is not permitted.

Scooters, bicycles, strollers, skateboards, skates, chairs, vehicles, or similar equipment are not permitted on the basketball courts.

BridgeMill's Park and surrounding areas are smoke-free.

All trash must be disposed of in proper containers.

Oversized vehicles left in any BridgeMill Athletic Club parking lot require prior approval.

What is Pickle Ball and how do you play it?

Pickleball was invented in the mid -1960s as a children's backyard pastime.

It is a paddle sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a Wiffle Ball, over a net. The sport shares features of other racquet sports, the dimensions and layout of a badminton court, and a net and rules similar to tennis, with several modifications.

The MGA hosts their MGA MASTERS on April 27th and 28th. If you are a member and not an MGA member, please call the office to sign up if you want to play in their events. These events are a great way to meet other members and socialize through competitive golf.

Member Guest 2019: May 16th-19th. Mark your calendars for this can’t-miss event.

This golf tournament is meant for Golf Members and their guests to play 5 nine hole matches to compete to get into the Shoot Out at the end of play on Saturday. Our policy is to have our esteemed Golf Members invite their guests to join them for one of our finest events of the year. Currently we are on a wait list for the tournament, but we are taking sign ups for the opportunity to try and get into the event.

Parent Junior golf tournament: April 20th at 5:00 pm. The weather in March was not conducive for great golf so we moved the start of the Parent Junior events to April.

Watch for Couples/Member Mixers, Friday May 3rd will be the Margarita Madness beginning of the year event. This is a 9 hole scramble format that is always a good time. You receive 3 different Margaritas while playing your 9 holes. Start time is 5:45 for this event.

Please check in with the Pro Shop Attendant prior to play. The courts are in high demand so one person per court, whether from a team or individual reservation, should check in with the Pro Shop prior to their reserved court time to verify their court usage and pay any guest fees. The staff also will be able to let you know if there have been any changes to your court number at this time.

The tennis courts are for BridgeMill Athletic Club members and their guests only.

Accompanied guest fees are $10.00 per person. Athletic members and their guests are also required to pay the $10.00 per person court fee. Court fees should be paid before play.

Unaccompanied guests are not allowed to use the tennis courts.

STROKE & STRATEGY IMPROVEMENT SESSIONS These drills focus on a different stroke or strategy each week. The sessions are ideal for C & B level players looking for instruction on stroke technique and game strategy.

Topics will include forehand & backhand groundstrokes, volleys, serve, overheads and game strategy. Thursdays – 7pm to 8pm. $15/session for Golf & Tennis members. DEVELOPMENT GROUPS The following groups focus on fundamentals of technique and how to play games. Age appropriate equipment is used for each age group.

This high energy group of players are playing high school tennis or tournaments or striving towards these goals. The Head Coach of this group is Jennifer Pouchier who is also the Head Coach for the Reinhardt University Tennis Teams. One unique benefit of this is that Academy players often get to hit and train with the college players! Players are divided by ability and age. Drills focus on proper strokes, footwork, fitness, strategy and mental toughness. This group meets throughout the school year. Monday and/or Wednesday – 5:00pm to 7:00pm

Teen Beginner – 13 & up Wednesday – 5:00-6:00pm

EXCEL SUMMER TENNIS DAY CAMPS

Red Ball – 5-7 years – Tuesday – 4:15-5:00 pm or Wednesday – 5:00-5:45 pm

Juniors will drill, play games and train in a fun atmosphere for 5 hours a day, 4 days in a row. Campers can’t help but improve their tennis games and they have a chance to make new tennis friends. Players also have a chance to cool off in the BridgeMill pool. All levels are welcome. Groups are divided by age and ability.

The Lexine Harper Community Service Textbook Scholarship deadline is April 18th. This scholarship program is dedicated to the memory of our friend and fellow BSSL member, Lexine Harper. We want to recognize exemplary seniors graduating from Cherokee County high schools who have committed themselves to service of others in the community.
