Day 2: Keynote Speaker: Houston’s Role in Leading the Energy Transition 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.

HMSDC will kick off Day 2 of Texas’ largest minority business trade-fair with a keynote address given by Jane Stricker Executive Director, Houston Energy Transition Initiative (HETI) and SVP, Energy Transition of the Greater Houston Partnership. The energy industry faces a dual challenge – continue to provide affordable and reliable energy to the world while also significantly reducing the CO2 emissions associated with energy production and use. As the energy capital of the world, Houston has both a responsibility and an opportunity to lead the world toward an energy-abundant, low-carbon future. The Houston Energy Transition Initiative (HETI) leverages Houston’s energy leadership, building on the best of traditional energy skills and systems to pave the way for a low-carbon world. Virtual attendees will also get energized by the remarks given by the MBE Honorary Co-Chair of EXPO and learn how their business can experience EXPOnential Growth at EXPO 2022.

HMSDC EXPO is focused on bringing buyers from major corporations, government agencies and educational institutions together with MBEs selling services to discuss business opportunities.

Power Hour Luncheon 12:45 p.m. - 1:45 p.m.

The Power Hour Luncheon is a great way for EXPO attendees to conclude the formal business of EXPO by engaging in dialogue during concurrent sessions. Choose from two riveting discussions on business opportunities in the sports & entertainment industry. Did you know there are opportunities to become vendors for some of the world's largest sporting events like the Men's NCAA Final Four Basketball tournament or the FIFA World Cup 2026. Holly Kesterson (Harris County – Houston Sports Authority, Vice President of Events) and Dorita Hatchett (2023 NCAA Men’s Final Four Houston Local Organization Committee – Houston Sports Authority, Sr. Director of Community Relations) will share information on how to connect and be considered for these global stage events.

MBE Matchmakers 1:00 p.m.

- 3:00 p.m.

Recognized by MBEs and exhibitors as one of the most effective additions to EXPO. MBE Matchmakers allow exhibitors to identify in advance products/services for which they are seeking immediately or over the next 6-12 months. HMSDC will then seek MBE suppliers and schedule 15-minute one-to-one meetings.
