藝術總監的話 懸念一觸即發 這是香港話劇團首度於主舞台搬演英國戲劇大師哈洛．品特的劇作， 也是本團一次向高難度挑戰的製作。品特的戲向來難演，不論導與演 也可發掘出極大的詮釋空間和變化 ─台詞的表面孕育著「潛台詞」； 每一刻停頓（pause）以至每一段沉默（silence）都可埋伏著角色隱藏 的思慮，憎恨與猜忌化成不同的轉機，甚至是殺機！最妙是真正的暴力 卻不會直接呈現，反而壓抑在無限的張力之中，扣人心弦。劇中一些看 似無傷大雅或沒甚起伏的情節，最終又可演變成荒誕的局面。1964年 面世的《回歸》 ，和品特其他同期創作的劇目（1957-68） ，均被西方評 論稱為「威脅喜劇」 （Comedies of Menace）。 我們選演《回歸》，是因為此劇極具藝術性和宇宙性。《回歸》於 67年榮獲東尼獎最佳戲劇獎（Tony Award for Best Play）。其百 老匯四十周年紀念演出，亦獲提名2008年東尼獎最佳重新演繹獎 （Best Revival of a Play），可見此作歷久不衰！《回歸》也曾於七十 年代被改編成電影，劇本同樣出自品特之手。在西方的戲劇界、電影 界和學術界，《回歸》絕對是廣為談論的品特代表作。

《回歸》對兩性間權力的探討，以至對政治間謀朝篡位的隱喻，充滿 著可堪玩味的戲劇元素。繼13年公演的《櫻桃園》後，我們非常榮幸 再次邀得香港演藝學院戲劇學院院長薛卓朗教授（Prof. Ceri Sherlock）為劇團執導《回歸》，為香港觀眾重新演繹西方經典戲劇。薛 教授對戲劇和文學瞭如指掌，今次和本團演員再度合作，也是一次 難得的劇藝交流！

2005年，哈洛．品特榮獲作家獎項中可謂全球最高榮譽的諾貝爾文學獎。瑞 典學院主席霍勒斯．恩達爾在宣佈獎項時表示，品特是一位「以劇作揭露日 常閒談中的危機，強行打開了壓迫的封閉房間」的藝術家。 品特於獲頒諾貝爾文學獎的發言時表示：「1958年，我如此寫道：『真假、 對錯之間，並無絕對分野。事物對或錯並非必定；也可以既對亦錯。』我認 為這些主張仍然合理，也仍然適用於以藝術探索現實。所以作為作者，我 支持這些主張，可是作為一個公民，我卻無法給予支持。作為公民，我必須 問：何為是、何為非？」 品特在30年10月10日生於倫敦東部，乃劇作家、導演、演員、詩人及政治運 動家。他一共創作了二十九齣舞台劇作，包括《生日派對》 、 《看門人》 、 《回 歸》 、 《背叛》等，及《風流公子花弄蝶》 （即《僕人》）、 《一段情》及《法國 中尉的女人》等二十一齣電影劇本，並執導二十七齣舞台劇作，包括詹姆 斯．喬伊斯的《放逐》 、大衛．馬梅的《奧利安娜》、西蒙．格爾的七齣劇作 以及多齣個人作品，包括生平最後一齣作品《慶祝》及首齣作品《房間》， Photo_Martin Rosenbaum

In 2005, Harold Pinter was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature, the highest honour available to any writer in the world. In announcing the award, Horace Engdahl, Chairman of the Swedish Academy, said that Pinter was an artist “who in his plays uncovers the precipice under everyday prattle and forces entry into oppression’s closed rooms”.

In the acceptance speech for the Nobel Prize for Literature 2005, Pinter said:

‘In 1958 I wrote the following: “There are no hard distinctions between what is real and what is unreal, nor between what is true and what is false. A thing is not necessarily either true or false; it can be both true and false.”

I believe that these assertions still make sense and do still apply to the exploration of reality through art. So as a writer I stand by them but as a citizen I cannot. As a citizen I must ask: What is true? What is false?’

Born 10 October 1930 in East London, playwright, director, actor, poet and political activist.

He wrote twenty-nine plays including The Birthday Party, The Caretaker, The Homecoming, and Betrayal, twenty-one screenplays including The Servant, The Go-Between and The French Lieutenant’s Woman, and directed twenty-seven theatre productions, including James Joyce’s Exiles, David Mamet’s Oleanna, seven plays by Simon Gray and many of his own plays including his latest, Celebration, paired with his first, The Room at The Almeida Theatre, London in the spring of 2000.

Pinter’s interest in politics was a very public one. Over the years he spoke out forcefully about the abuse of state power around the world, including NATO’s bombing of Serbia, the plight of the Kurds and the Iraq War. He decried Britain’s involvement in the Iraq War, and he called both U.S. President George W. Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair “terrorists”. After being diagnosed with cancer in 2001, Pinter continued his writing and activism. Pinter expressed some of his outrage in his poetry, particularly his 2003 collection, WAR .

Pinter succumbed to cancer on December 24, 2008.

Pinter’s work has inspired and informed generations of playwrights, especially Tom Stoppard, David Mamet, Martin Crimp, Mark Ravenhill and Sarah Kane. Pinter’s plays are still widely performed around the world, with new audiences experiencing the distinct, strange, uncomfortable and foreboding atmosphere of “Pinteresque” — the language, rhythms, pauses, silences and searing images — created by the late writer.

Of Pinter, his biographer Michael Billington writes “what I discovered was that his plays, so often dubbed enigmatic and mysterious, were nearly all spun out of memories of his own experience.

If they connected with audiences the world over, it was because he understood the insecurity of human life and the sense that it was often based on psychological and territorial battles. Pinter’s contribution to drama was immense. He had a poet’s ear for language, an almost flawless sense of dramatic rhythm and the ability to distil the conflicts of daily life. I believe his plays, from The Room in 1957 to Celebration in 2000, will endure wind and weather. Indeed many of them already, such as The Birthday Party, The Homecoming and No Man’s Land, have the status of modern classics.”

Ceri Sherlock is the Dean of the School of Drama and a Professor at Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts (HKAPA). For the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre he directed the award-winning production of Anton Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard in 2013. He has an extensive thirty-year career in the Arts and is a theatre, film, television and opera director and a performing arts teacher.

He began as a trainee director with Theatr Cymru (National Theatre of Wales) and as a staff director at Welsh National Opera. Ceri was Artistic Director of the Actors Touring Company, London and the founding director of Theatrig in Wales. In broadcasting Ceri was Head of Drama at Elidir Films; a Commissioning Editor at S4C; Commissioning Executive Arts (BBC Wales) and an Executive Producer (BBC 4). He has won numerous Best Director Awards for his theatre productions, television documentaries and films including a Golden Gate Award (San Francisco); Golden Torc – Spirit of the Festival (Celtic); Publikumspreis (Wurtzburg); Chris Award (Columbus); Houston Worldfest (Gold) and a coveted Royal Television Society Award.

He joined the HKAPA as Head of Directing and Playwriting in 2010, becoming Dean of Drama in 2011, where he has directed Botho Strauss’ Der Park, Alexander Galin’s Stars in the Morning Sky, Brian Friel’s Dancing at Lughnasa, Gabriel Garcia Lorca’s The House of Bernarda Alba, Anton Chekhov’s Three Sisters, Sarah Kane’s Crave and 4:48 Psychosis and Schnitzler’s La Ronde for the School of Drama all in Cantonese; and Benjamin Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Handel’s Semele for the School of Music.

Ceri was educated at King’s College and the Institute of Education, University of London and at the Cardiff Centre for Creative and Cultural Industries, where he gained his Ph.D. He was also a Fulbright Scholar at the University of California, Los Angeles, Nipkow Fellow (Berlin) and a Judith E. Wilson Fellow at the University of Cambridge. He is an Honorary Professor in Drama at Kingston University, London and the University of Aberystwyth, a Fellow of The Royal Society for the Arts (FRSA) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

導演的話 哈洛．品特《回歸》的處理難度極高，其中挑戰性顯然而見：獨特的「品特式」風格—停頓、省略、 靜默；簡約；氛圍滿佈張力與威脅；血淋淋的語言暴力；劇中人物行為的原始野蠻；意義的含糊，以 及影像與姿態的詩意。不過，最難的地方，是如何在文本的存在主義式的象徵意義與品特創造的 似實還虛的劇中世界之間取得平衡。 品特在接受2005年諾貝爾文學獎時發言表示：「真假、對錯之間，並無絕對分野。事物對或錯並非 必定；也可以既對亦錯。真相在戲劇世界裡，永恆地虛渺。你永遠無法尋獲它，但會身不由己地一直 去找。明顯地，尋找是努力的動機。你的任務是去找⋯⋯但真相是，在戲劇藝術裡，單一的真相從 未存在。（這個世界裡）有許多個真相 。」 劇評家約翰．拉爾就本劇所寫的，頗能總括我的觀感：「《回歸》改變了我的生命。在此劇之前，我 以為語言只為承載意義；之後，我視之為防禦武器。此前，我以為戲劇以話語為重；此後，我體會 到不言而喻之妙。一張座椅的位置、一個停頓的長度、一個姿態的選擇，皆可表達深長意義⋯⋯我 不太懂得我看到了什麼；我僅知道此劇結合懸疑與嚴密，歎為觀止，更讓我學會關於生命、關於語 言、關於戲劇敘事的一些新義。品特將旁述取出劇場之外：《回歸》沒有給予任何解釋、理論、真 相、貫線或絕對。我深被此劇的魅力吸引。」 《回歸》寫於1964年，花了六星期完稿。品特在一份早期手稿上寫下「妒忌」一詞。詞邊還有一組類 似韻文的句子： B 與C 的A B 與 A 的C A 與C 的B 品特說：「此劇可謂自然而成。」品特最要好的一位猶太朋友莫里斯．韋尼克在秘密結婚後移居加 國，於當地成為教師，八年後（即64年）《回歸》寫成前不久，他帶同妻兒回家首次與父親見面。如 此情境，正是品特創作本劇的跳板。 本劇名曰《回歸》頗為諷刺。回歸者是誰？似乎是Teddy，又或許是Ruth？我們後來發現，她的出生 地原來離Teddy的故鄉不遠。是我們自己嗎？我們發現從未改變而又滄海桑田的事件，不但發生在 我們自己身上，而且我們與過去的聯繫不可避免，兼由未來決定。 劇中兄弟慣例式地爭佔地盤，是家族爭執，亦有其象徵意義。誠然，他們與領土、宅邸、世代變更、 承繼、承傳、性能力與權力有關，但亦有關於中庸、社會共存的適當平衡、男與女、人類本質與及真 相實質。 與香港話劇團共同探索《回歸》這部作品，我既覺榮幸非常，亦感責任重大。與劇團的創作及技術 團隊合作，特別是與我的好同事、負責翻譯這部巨著的潘惠森先生合作，實在是難能可貴的機會。 然而，如諾貝爾文學獎所言，品特是「二十世紀下半葉英國戲劇最具代表性的人物」，為他們及香港 觀眾介紹品特最具挑戰性的作品之一，實在責任非輕。

Approaching Harold Pinter’s The Homecoming is a daunting task and the challenge is self-evident: The signature “Pinteresque” style—pauses, ellipses, silences; the minimalism; the atmosphere of menace and tension; the visceral violence of the language; the barbarity of behaviour; the ambiguities of meaning and the poeticism of image and gesture. But above all it is how to balance the existential symbolism of the text with the seeming ‘reality’ of the world Pinter creates.

In his acceptance speech for the Nobel Prize for Literature Pinter in 2005 wrote: “There are no hard distinctions between what is real and what is unreal, nor between what is true and what is false. A thing is not necessarily either true or false; it can be both true and false… Truth in drama is forever elusive. You never quite find it but the search for it is compulsive. The search is clearly what drives the endeavour. The search is your task… But the real truth is that there never is any such thing as one truth to be found in dramatic art. There are many.”

The theatre critic John Lahr sums up my own feelings on the play when he writes: “ The Homecoming changed my life. Before the play, I thought words were just vessels of meaning; after it, I saw them as weapons of defense. Before, I thought theatre was about the spoken; after, I understood the eloquence of the unspoken. The position of a chair, the length of a pause, the choice of a gesture, I realized, could convey volumes… I didn’t know quite what I’d seen; I knew only that the play’s spectacular combination of mystery and rigor had taught me something new about life, about language, about the nature of dramatic storytelling. Pinter had taken the narration out of theatre: The Homecoming offered no explanations, no theory, no truths, no through line, no certainties of any kind. I was drawn to the charisma of the work.”

The Homecoming was written in six weeks in 1964. In an early note for The Homecoming, Pinter wrote the word “ jealousy.” Beside it, like a sort of rhyme scheme: A of B and C C of B and A B of A and C Pinter said, “It kind of wrote itself.” One of Pinter’s closest Jewish friends, Morris (Moishe) Wernick, having secretly married, emigrated to Canada, where he became a school teacher; eight years later, in 1964—just before The Homecoming was written—Wernick returned for the first time to introduce his wife and his children to his father. That situation was Pinter’s springboard.

But the title of Pinter’s play The Homecoming holds a kind of irony. Whose homecoming is it? It seems to be Teddy’s. Or is it Ruth’s? For as we discover, she was born nearby. Or is it our own? The event at which we discover that nothing has changed and everything has changed not least within our own selves and that somehow we are inexorably connected to our past and determined by our futures.

The ritual territorial battles between male siblings enacted in The Homecoming are both domestic and archetypal conflicts. Indeed, they about the turf, about the house, about generational change, inheritance, legacy, and about sexual potency and power but they are also about balance, the appropriate equilibrium for social coexistence; about Man and Woman; about the essence of our humanity, and the nature of truth.

Exploring The Homecoming with HKRep is a privilege and responsibility. A wonderful opportunity to work again with the artistic company, creative and technical teams, with my creative collaborators, and in particular, my esteemed colleague Paul Poon as translator of this daunting text. But a responsibility too to introduce to them and the Hong Kong audience to one of the most challenging works of Harold Pinter who, as the Nobel Prize for Literature noted is seen as “the foremost representative of British drama in the second half of the 20th century.”

離家或回家？— 品特的家庭荒謬劇 文：于善祿

猶太裁縫師獨生子哈洛．品特的劇作《回歸》 （ The Homecoming）寫成於1964年， 這是他所創作的第三個長篇劇本，並在65年6月3日由英國皇家莎士比亞劇團（Royal Shakespeare Company）在奧德維奇劇院（Aldwych Theatre）首演，由著名導演彼得． 霍爾（Peter Hall）執導。 品特在這個劇本中所描寫的家—雖然粵語版追求中性時空、模糊史地、杜撰名詞，但在 此之前，我仍想討論一下原劇的家—座落在倫敦北部，應該是樓高兩層的舊房子，有基 本的空間規劃，沒甚麼光鮮亮麗的裝潢，家具擺設稍微凌亂，差不多就是勞工階級薪水 收入可以負擔的住所。 嚴格說起來，在這個故事裡，有兩個家庭，倘若以Teddy為基點，既有他的原生家庭， 也有他的衍生家庭。原生家庭的大家長Max，年七十歲，繼承了父親的肉販事業，刀工很 好，目前已經退休在家，喜歡倚老賣老，囉嗦碎念，好提當年勇，不但有潔癖，甚至幾乎 抱怨所有周遭的人、事、物；大兒子Teddy是家裡最會念書的，取得博士學位之後，在美 國當哲學教授；二兒子Lenny大概從事色情業皮條客，他對女人都有輕薄、侵犯的傾向， 劇中甚至提議讓大嫂Ruth投身為娼，他可以提供色情公寓以供營業；小兒子Joey有一份 拆除建築的勞力工作，年輕力壯，精力充沛，勤練拳擊，希望有朝一日能成為拳擊師；另 外，Max的弟弟Sam（香港演出版譯作「三叔」）打過二戰，是位退伍軍人，一直沒有結 婚，是名經驗豐富的駕車司機，開過垃圾車、聯結車（貨櫃車）、出租汽車，現在則開私 家車，專門替富豪與商務人士服務，然而Max卻經常羞辱他，認為他懶散，胸無大志，一 事無成。 而Teddy的衍生家庭，指的就是他和Ruth所組織的小家庭，他們結婚六年，育有三個男 孩，但Teddy的原生家庭成員對此幾乎一無所知；Ruth的廚藝似乎還不錯，相夫教子，是 Teddy的賢內助，昔日她曾是一名身體攝影模特兒，劇中關於她的過去，其實線索不多， 每每隱晦或略過，是個謎樣的女人，我們看到的是，她身為一位外來者，初次來到這個全

男人的家庭，面對Lenny的語帶威脅、Max的賤斥女性、Joey的相擁親吻，甚至是Teddy 的冷漠逃避，她通通無所畏懼，幾乎是兵來將擋，水來土掩。尤其在Max與Lenny計劃將 她投入娼業時，還能夠與他們討價還價，最終甚至使得Max和Joey都跪倒在她的椅子 旁，儼然她才是掌控全局的女王一般，這個劇中畫面深具類宗教的儀式感，或性別政治 的象徵寓意。 事實上，這個家族還有一樁深埋日久的不堪秘密：Max的好友MacGregor（ 港譯「麥國 東」）趁著Sam載他和Max的老婆Jessie出去兜風時，在車的後座，搞了Jessie。這個家 族醜聞使得Max不但認為Jessie是個蕩婦，與自己的好友通姦，對於女人也不太信任，物 化女性，甚至以為女人非娼即婊。他初見Ruth，就已經不斷在Teddy面前稱她為婊子， 完全不顧及身份與情面；而Max長久以來不斷地羞 辱數落Sam，也曾幾度懷 疑Sam和 Jessie搞曖昧，最終迫使Sam不得不在眾人面前，一口氣揭露這項醜聞。最荒謬的是，當 Sam沙啞地說完之後，他便癱軟無力而倒下，Max仍認為這只是一種Sam病態的想像。 因為Jessie已死，MacGregor又不知去向，而我們未能在劇中看到事發當下，我們終究只 能聽到Max和Sam各自的片面之詞，無從確認。其實類似的不定感，籠罩並瀰漫在整齣 戲裡。 Teddy的處境則呈現某種尷尬，但多半跟他的性格與反應有關，過於懦弱，選擇逃避與 漠視。在這樣的勞工階級原生家庭成長，祖父和父親都從事屠宰業；兩位弟弟不是皮條 客，就是拳擊手，或是拆除工，多屬於身體勞動的相關行業；母親和父親的好友似有姦 情，而且還發生在叔叔的後車座；唯獨他一路讀到哲學博士學位，並以此謀得在美國學 校任教的機會，從事的是學術研究與精神勞動，頗有些「歹竹出好筍」（台語俗諺，意指 平庸的父母，也能生出有成就的下一代）的意味。Teddy的尷尬在於他有兩個家，難得帶 著他的太太Ruth，從美國出發旅行，剛到過意大利威尼斯，回到倫敦的原生家庭，卻立 即遭到父親的語言斥辱，父、弟還聯手計劃要將Ruth推入妓坑；對此他只想趕快結束這 趟「旅行」（荒謬而諷刺，返鄉之旅成了旅行，離開倫敦則是「回家」，異鄉才是故鄉），

回到美國與孩子們重聚，甚至覺得這邊充滿壓力與不適，而那邊則比較乾淨而且陽光普 照。若我們將不明確的「回家」主詞暫時擱置，經此分析，Teddy應為「回家者」，但實為 「離家者」，而且算是再犯：六年前不告而別，落腳美國，娶妻生子；六年後飽受羞辱，欲 振乏力，留下妻子而獨自返回美國。 相對於Teddy的尷尬，Ruth則是個謎樣的局外人，她和這個家的關係算是姻親；除了前面 提到的身體攝影模特兒及不錯的廚藝，我們對她的過去完全不清楚，有一次她幾乎要說 出口了，卻被Teddy接口粉飾了。她的幾次出場，包括和Teddy初到這個家，不累但嫌悶， 不想睡覺，想四處走走；和Lenny的初次邂逅與談話，兩人之間就充滿了戲劇性，Ruth原 先似乎有點疑懼謹慎，還在警覺地觀察中，畢竟人生地不熟，而Lenny則已顯現某種侵 犯性，他的語言加上肢體動作，自吹自擂，貶抑他人，令人感到有所逼迫。兩人各自裝腔 作態，語言之間的底層卻有很多的慾望竄流，這是非常精彩的一場戲，恰似相互挑逗的 危情探戈；以及最後似乎是她才掌握了全局的靜止畫面，當然仍留下不少謎團。當Lenny 和Teddy在辯證存在與虛無的哲學問題時，Ruth突然蹦入一段關於行動與詞語的莫名 獨白，與前後台詞完全不成脈絡，連說話的對象都模稜兩可、曖昧不清，然而就在這段 獨白裡，她透露「出生在離這兒很近的地方」，之後Teddy催促著幾次「我想我們該回去 了。」、「我們回家好嗎？」時，她的回答總是「為甚麼？」，似乎這裡就是她的家，似乎局 外人才是真正的「回家者」，她才是掌握全局、運籌帷幄的主角。

哲學教 授Teddy帶同妻子Ruth回歸老 家，回家後二人關係卻起了變化，夫妻之 間若即若離，老父Max更發現Ruth與其 另外兩名兒子關係曖昧。Teddy萌生與 Ruth離開的念頭，此時Max提出一個驚 人建議⋯⋯Ruth前路如何，只有她自己 能決定。 After leaving home for years, philosophy professor Teddy returns with his wife Ruth. In the home town, the couple’s rel ationship begins to change and the distance between them grows. Teddy’s father Max later witnesses a flirtatious event between Teddy’s two younger brothers, Lenny and Joey, and Ruth.

As Teddy proposes leaving with her, Max comes up with the surprising suggestion that she should stay…

陳煦莉 RUTH 飾

一位戲路寬廣的資深演員，曾是廣州歌舞團的專業聲樂演員。自1983年加入香 港話劇團後，迄今已演出超過一百七十個製作。 她亦是一名雙語演員，曾主演話劇團多個普通話製作，包括《不可兒戲》 、 《李爾 王》 、 《仲夏夜之夢》 、 《他人的錢》和《閻惜姣》等。 多年來演過大量不同類型的角色，包括《德齡與慈禧》 （粵語版）的慈禧、 《地久 天長》的明珍、 《黐孖戲班》的婆婆、《2029追殺1989》的紀蘭芝，以其自身經歷 為素材的黑盒劇場創作《志輝與思蘭—風不息》 、 《最後晚餐》的母親及《失禮． 死人》的太婆等。她亦憑《地久天長》和《黐孖戲班》的演出分別獲香港舞台劇 獎最佳女主角（悲劇/正劇）及最佳女配角（喜劇/鬧劇）獎項提名，於12年憑《最 後晚餐》同時榮獲香港舞台劇獎最佳女主角（悲劇/正劇）及香港小劇場獎最佳 女主角，去年再憑《失禮．死人》獲第二十五屆香港舞台劇獎最佳女配角（悲劇/ 正劇）。 最近演出有《頂頭鎚》2017 LIVE+、 《親愛的，胡雪巖》 、 《太平山之疫》 、 《都是龍 袍惹的禍》等。

畢業於香港演藝學院，2010年美國耶魯大學戲劇學院研究學者。設計作品逾二百個， 曾獲多個獎項，包括香港舞台劇獎最佳舞台設計、最佳服裝設計、最佳化妝造型、香港 藝術發展獎藝術新進獎（03）及年度最佳藝術家獎（07/08）等。09年獲亞洲文化協會 獎助金，同年獲世界劇場設計大賽舞台設計榮譽獎，並兩度獲香港舞 蹈年獎「最值得 表揚舞美」 （ 12及 16） 。15年獲民政事務局局長嘉許計劃頒發嘉許狀及獎章，表揚他在 推動文化藝術發展的貢獻。 他 策 劃 及 主 持 的 現 代 心 靈 工作 坊《一紙 如 鏡 》及《一境 四 心》工作 坊，分 別 在 1 1 及 1 5 年 獲 布 拉 格 國 際 劇 場 設 計 四 年 展（ Prague Q uadrennial ）邀 請 到 當 地 進 行 交 流。02年舉行首個舞台設計展覽《舞台空間消解構成》；著有《舞台空間：一念間一場 空》及《藝教於樂：藝術種子要長大》。現為康樂及文化事務署演藝小組顧問。 此外，他修習薩滿密傳喜瑪拉雅頌缽手法，精研頌缽及以頌缽為修行途徑，曾在世界各 地多次公開演奏。分別與知名琵琶演奏家王梓靜、南管音樂家王心心及昆劇表演藝術 家孔愛萍同台合演。

畢業於香港演藝學院，主修舞台及服裝設計；香港中文大學文化研究碩士。參與超過八 十個舞台製作的服裝設計，涉獵範圍包括意大利歌劇、中國戲曲、話劇、音樂劇、形體 劇場和舞劇。 參與的製作曾於香港、臺灣、德國、美國、加拿大、英國、新加坡、北京、上海、廣州、深 圳及澳門等地演出。2004年憑《桃花扇》及 15年憑《海達．珈珼珞》獲香港舞台劇獎最 佳服裝設計。07年代表香港參加布拉格國際劇場設計四年展，參展作品為粵劇《西樓 錯夢》。08年獲亞洲文化協會頒發利希慎 獎學金，赴紐約進行一年的服裝文化探索及 有關服裝保育之旅。 現為自由身舞台工作者。

1982年加入城市當代舞 蹈團，89年以高級優異成績畢業於 香港演藝學院科藝學院， 主修舞台燈光設計；2007年於澳洲昆士蘭科技大學取得燈光碩士學位。每年為不同媒 介的製作擔任燈光設計的工作，包括戲劇、歌劇、芭蕾舞、現代舞、中國戲曲及音樂劇 等，均獲一致好評。除本地製作外，亦受聘於海外擔任設計及顧問工作，演出地點包括 中國、臺灣、新加坡、韓國、日本、英國、布拉格、以色列及德國，其設計為他贏得國際 稱譽。 他於 94 年 獲香港戲劇協會頒發十年傑出成 就獎，亦先後八度 贏得 95、96、98、01、 09、10、11及 14年度香港舞台劇獎最佳燈光設計；他亦為舞蹈演出設計佈景，其中包括 新約舞流、城市當代舞蹈團及雲門舞集等多個製作，於 99、07、10及 13年獲香港舞蹈 聯盟頒發舞蹈年獎，以肯定其舞蹈燈光及佈景設計的成就。從 98年起在香港演藝學院 執教，現任舞台燈光設計高級講師，為香港演藝界培育眾多出色的設計人才。

Company Background

• 香港話劇團是香港歷史最悠久及規模最大

的專業劇團。1977 創團，2001 公司化，受 香港特別行政區政府資助，由理事會領導 及監察運作，聘有藝術總監、助理藝術總 監、演員、舞台技術及行政人員等七十多 位全職專才。 • 三十九年來，劇團積極發展，製作劇目超 過三百個，為本地劇壇創造不少經典劇場 作品。

• The Hong Kong Repertory Theatre is the longest standing and largest professional theatre company in the city, established in 1977 and incorporated in 2001. Financially supported by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Hong Kong Repertory operates under the guidance of its Governing Council, and employs a team of over 70 full-time professionals including the artistic director, assistant artistic director, actors, technical and stage management staff as well as administrators.

• Since its establishment 39 years ago, it has presented more than 300 productions, many of which have become classics of the local theatre canon.

• 平衡劇季 — 選演本地原創劇，翻譯、改編

• A Balanced Repertoire – A selected programme of local original works, and translations and adaptations of classic and contemporary plays from the Mainland and internationally. The company collaborates with playwrights, directors, actors, designers and other talent within and outside of the company, to create new mainstream theatre productions of artistic excellence.

• Black Box Theatre – Flexible in approach, the Black Box Theatre provides a space where writers and practitioners can explore, take risks and experiment to create new material and modes of performances, in order to cultivate and stretch the boundaries of theatre arts.

• Theatre Education – Bringing theatre to life through courses and workshops, the company aims to provide theatre education and skills development for adults and children via the many facets of theatre. It also works to increase the audiences’ awareness towards theatre arts through dedicated performances for students as well as the wider community.

• International Exchange – Through the strengthening of exchanges with the Mainland and internationally, the company tours regularly in order to promote Hong Kong’s local theatre culture, and to develop opportunities for collaborations and performances across the border and overseas.

• Theatre Literature – Through a varied programme of new writing development, Reader’s Theatre, seminars, reviews and publication of theatre literature, the company aims to encourage, document, preserve and consolidate creative activities in theatre.
