We often believe that light comes from sources, such as the sun or electric lights. However, in the world viewed through a camera lens, light exists in slightly different ways. While you are turning over the bookshelf, I hope the slope of the light that permeates each page leaves a pleasant shadow on your mind. The light is always flowing towards you behind your back, above your head, or under your feet. No matter where you turn, there will be a dazzling light just for you.
이 사진집을 덮기 전, 당신에게 묻는다. 당신은 무엇을 보았는가. 단지 종이 위에 안착된 한 장의 사진이었는가, 아니면 그 표면을 타고 흐르는 빛의 움직임이었는가. 만약 당신이 그저 정지된 장면만을 목격했다면, 다시 처음으로 돌아가 빛의 시선을 따라 읽어보기를 권한다. 빛은 당신에게 수많은 이야기를 건네기 위해 먼 길을 달려왔다. 때로는 당신의 시선을 교묘히 피하고, 때로는 당신의 눈동자와 정면으로 마주하며 존재를 드러낸다.

Before you close this book, I ask you: What did you see?
Was it merely a photograph resting on paper, or was it the movement of light flowing across its surface? If you have witnessed only frozen moments, I urge you to return to the beginning and read again, following the gaze of light. Light has traveled a long way to tell you countless stories. At times, it subtly evades your eyes; at others, it reveals itself by staring you straight in the face. From left to right, and right to left. From above your head to beneath your feet. Look once more to find what lies hidden within that secret gaze—waiting for you from a direction you never expected.
