Leadership Mpowered Love - Women Empowerment Stories

When our team chose the theme “Mpowered Love” for the 2022/23 year, we aimed to create a more empowering environment to help us navigate the challenges of COVID. As the saying goes, “What doesn’t kill me makes me stronger.” Empowerment has become the driving force for mothers, enabling them to be their best selves and spread love within their families, neighborhoods, and communities.

In this year’s Thought Leadership piece, we adopted a fresh approach by highlighting the empowerment stories of celebrities, successful female entrepreneurs, and mothers. From Margaret’s dedication to supporting parents of children with rare diseases to Alia’s commitment to continuing her mother’s legacy of helping young mothers; from Alice’s resilience in uplifting her son to Celeste’s startup that empowers aunties in creating Chinese desserts, we are proud to share these heartfelt stories. Our hope is to shine a light on the empowerment of mothers and the impact they have on those around them.

The event radiated empowering love through a panel featuring Elizabeth Thomson, founder of the Amber Foundation, and Christina Ho, an airline pilot and creator of #christtina_meow. We also extend our gratitude to local designer brands Parallel51 and Fleur Bleue Jewellery for their generous donations of sales proceeds, which will directly support the Moms4Moms Fellowship Program.

Collaborating with EmpowerHER - a team from Hang Lung Future Women Leaders Program

In May 2023, we partnered with four students from the Hang Lung Future Women Leaders Program to form a team called EmpowerHER. A workshop was conducted for female job seekers and stay-at-home mothers, led by facilitators Vidya Thirvenkatasamy and Fanny Yeung, both of whom have extensive experience in human resources.
