Since its inception in 2012, the HKIHRM HR Excellence Awards programme has garnered great acclaim in Hong Kong’s HR community and beyond. Now in its sixth edition, the Awards programme continues to be the standard bearer for HR excellence and honours HR professionals and initiatives that leverage people strategies for organisations to thrive in a competitive landscape.

With the recent trends of digital disruption, multi-generation workforce, just to name a couple, HR practitioners are increasingly entrusted with revamping company culture and practices to prepare their organisation for the future of work. The Awards programme celebrates organisations and professionals with outstanding performance in accomplishing this challenging mission.

For HKIHRM HR Excellence Awards 2019/20, we welcome NGOs as a new addition to the awards categories, in recognition of their efforts in making a positive impact on sustaining organisational growth through outstanding HR strategies or initiatives. Seven new awards spanning five HR domains have also been added, to reflect the increasingly indispensable role evolving factors, such as innovation and employee friendliness, play in bringing change to the workplace. The Awards programme also features the Excellent HR Leader Award. By invitation only, this esteemed award acknowledges the achievements of an individual who demonstrates excellent HR professionalism and has made a remarkable contribution to the HR community.

On behalf of the HKIHRM, my heartfelt thanks go to members of the organising committee, members of the judging panel, the sponsors, the supporting organisations, the associate assessor, and business partners for their unwavering support and dedication in shaping the Awards programme into a resounding success. Congratulations to our award winners and participants – together we have unlocked a new chapter in our industry.
