T he Tung F o und a t i o n has al way s s upp or t ed and en c ou r aged th e promotion of youth work and music education development in Hong Kong

We are pleased to continue to support Hong Kong Inter-School Choral Festival (HKICF) as it keeps up its existing good work and creates new initiatives for aspiring talents in the choral music community

HKICF has consistently encouraged collaboration in the choral music field both locally and internationally This year, it has invited the prestigious Shenzhen Senior High School Lily Girls Choir to visit Hong Kong as one of the HKICF2025 Guest Choirs of the Year The other esteemed HKICF2025 Gue s t C h oi r o f th e Yea r i s t h e awa rd - wi n ni n g Vo i c e s o f S i n g a po re Children's Choir from Singapore Both choirs will host a concert in Hong Kong to del i ver a c ap t i vat ing per for man ce for H ong Kong aud ie n ce fostering artistic and cultural exchange between Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area, and the international community

In add i t io n, we a re pl e as e d to se e t he ef fo rt s of H K ICF i n p rovid i n g professional development opportunities to music educators. This year, there will be a total of nine workshops covering various themes, featuring local and no n -local p resen ters to help teacher s ma ster cho ral musi c teaching techniques. Furthermore through the Teachers' Choir a HKICF initiative since 2023, music educators can rekindle their passion for choral singing and seek refuge from their demanding teaching schedule Through these programmes, music teachers and conductors can enhance their knowledge as well as collaborate with fellow educators in their important task of nurturing our next generation

Finally, in addition to enhancing the overall choral music level of Hong Kong students, HKICF is also committed to caring for the community This year, the Virtual Choir Project will collaborate with the local mental health charity Mind HK to raise public awareness for mental wellness through choral music

The Foundation fully supports the work and mission of HKICF We wish this year's festival a smooth and successful implementation, and we hope that all participants will experience the joy of choral music

The Hong Kong Virtuoso Chorus Limited (HKVC) has strived to promote c h o ra l mu sic e du c atio n s in ce its e st ab lis hm e n t. In 2 018 , we fo und e d the choral music education platform Hong Kong Inter-School Choral Festival (HKICF), aiming to create a vibrant choral culture that emphasises "Learning, Appreciation, and Collaboration"

Thi s yea r over 460 school choirs, comp r i s ing app roxim ate l y 3 0,00 0 primary and secondary students and music educators will participate in various programmes and events in HKICF2025 During the past seven years, we are very honoured that HKICF has been well-received by all participants The growing enthusiasm for choral music education in Hong Kong has definitely become our driving force to deepen and broaden our programmes and events for both teachers and students

As HKICF enters its eighth year we are deeply grateful to have received the Springboard Grant from the Arts Capacity Development Funding Scheme of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau for the first time, as well as the Year Grant from the Arts Development Council for the first time Additionally we extend our gratitude to the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the Calvin Chan Foundation, the Lee Hysan Foundation, the Tung Foundation, and the Shaw Foundation for their generosity and trust, as well as to each individual sponsor for their steadfast support We will cherish these resources entrusted to us and work to enhance the depth and breadth of the festival, benefiting even more students, teachers, and the community at large

We would also like to express our sincere thanks to all the local and nonlocal choral musicians and conductors who selflessly share their knowledge and experience, so that we can bring the experience of an international choral festival to our community in Hong Kong Moreover, our collaborative partners in HKICF2025 have also been growing tremendously with support from institutions including the Department of Cultural and Creative Arts, The Education University of Hong Kong, Academy of Music of Hong Kong Baptist University, the TWGHs Kitty Woo Music and Art Development Centre, ABRSM, Mind HK, and Every Life is a Song In addition, for the first time, we have invited outstanding community choirs to participate in one of our concerts. This would definitely be another highlight of HKICF2025

Last but not least, I would like to thank all the participating students, music teachers, conductors, and schools Together, we can work toward a brighter future for choral music development in Hong Kong!

As w e s t and on th e t h r e s h ol d of the Ho ng K ong In t e r- Sc ho o l Choral Festival (HKICF) 2025, I am filled with a profound sense of awe and anticipation. Since its inception in 2018, HKICF has grown f ro m a m o d e s t p roject wit h a f ew pa rtici p a ti ng s cho o l s t o t h e l a rge st annua l cho ra l eve nt in H o ng Ko ng. Wi th eve r y addit i ona l sc h ool th a t we re a c h , we a re closer to o u r v isio n of nu rt u ri ng a cultu re th a t champions learning, app reci a tion, and collabo ra t i o n among school choirs

At HKICF, we are not content with a mere growth in numbers; we are dedicated to deepening our impact on our youth and on music education. For those interested in knowing more about how we do that, we have produced a documentary that offers an intimate look at the memorable journey of a Hong Kong Inter-School Choir member and a mus i c te a c h e r i n our Sc ho ol Ch o ir Incub a to r P ro g ramm e This documentary is a tribute to the power of music and a moving testament to the work we have been doing through HKICF
