第一次以主席及策展人的身份參與首屆科藝藝術節，既興奮 亦緊張，更期望這個旅程的首航標誌著來年有更大的發展空 間。人生有涯，學海無邊，這都是我們兒時學懂緊緊牢記的 話，可又有多少人付諸實踐？！也正好讓我踏進中年危機借 科藝藝術節來一次勇敢又徹底地實踐這理念。

打從構思，籌備，以至實踐，整個過程給于我從不同的藝術 家及合作夥伴身上啟蒙到很難得的學習機會，實在獲益良 多！當然同時也遇上不少挫折和難以克服的困難，本着理念 我們都不容許自己灰心，更未有動搖我們的初心，終而達到 呈現在大家眼前的成果。作為踏出第一步的嘗試，懇請大家 包容不足之處，亦同時衷心感謝各藝術家及單位付出的努 力，希望大家能享受這個的嶄新的旅程！

As first-time chairman of HKATTS and curator of the 1st Technical Arts Festival, I very much hope its success will lead to many more such events in the future.

There are infinite possibilities in life, and the process of learning is boundless. Those are clichés all too familiar to us, yet for those of us emboldened enough to put them into practice, it opens up new frontiers of technical adventurism with arts at its core. On a more personal level, the Technical Arts Festival reflects upon the very changes amidst my midlife crisis.

It has been a journey of discovery in nurturing the festival into fruition.

I am deeply humbled by the wealth of experience and artistic strength displayed by participating artists and partners. As with all arduous undertakings, we have encountered challenges and sometimes insurmountable difficulties, yet through it all it has only strengthened our resolve to explore the magical chemistry of “technical” and “arts”.

I hope you will enjoy the festival as much as we have in creating it, and that you will share with us the vision of this nouveau-arte renaissance of the 21st century.

自 2018 年草擬計劃書開始，歷時五載，至 2022 年的今天，看見 科藝藝術節即將在西九文化區開幕，難掩內心的激動！在這倒數一 個月的當下，無數片段快速略過… 仍然想說，這是一個非常大膽 的嘗試！

「究竟科藝是甚麽？」

可以說，科藝是一種對演出空間與製作形式的開拓與想像。我們 都是一群舞台幕後創作人，從約定俗成之中累積經驗，從經驗當 中尋找創作的新可能。科藝藝術節，是一個實驗，一種探索，一 個未知的進路。

藝術是模棱的，因為模棱可以引發想像。此刻或者未能定義，但 可以將不同的想像並置，在並置之間找出差異，在差異之間尋求 意義。就如在漆黑的環境之中亮出一點光，我們在模棱與並置之 間探索藝術的新方向！謹以著名的捷克舞台設計師約瑟夫斯沃博達 （Josef Svoboda）的一句話作結，希望各位可以在科藝藝術節之 中感受一個嶄新的舞台體驗！

It all started with drafting the proposal in 2018. Five years passed by - on this present day in 2022, I am thrilled to witness the opening of the Technical Arts Festival in West Kowloon Cultural District!

Fragments of memories in this previous month flashed before my eyes. I still wish to say, this is such a daring endeavor!

What exactly is Technical Arts?

Technical arts is an innovation and imagination towards performing space and production styles.

We are a group of backstage artists who accumulate experiences through conventions. From these experiences, we seek new possibilities to create. The Technical Arts Festival is an experiment, an exploration, and an unknown gateway.

Art is ambiguous, as ambiguity can stimulate imagination. Though art cannot be defined, through juxtaposition of various imaginations, differences can be found. From these differences, we seek meaning and purposes. Like a beam of light in the dark, we explore new directions in arts through ambiguity and juxtaposition. Using a quote from the famous Czech stage designer Josef Svoboda to conclude, I wish you a brand new stage experience in the Technical Arts Festival!

展覽記錄及展示 15 位藝術家於展演中的創作實驗 過程，包括草圖、錄像、道具、創作日誌、未成形 的實驗品、概念圖等，讓觀眾從多角度，由創作過 程至幕後觀察，了解劇場的另一面貌。 15 artists shared their creative and experimental processes, including sketches, videos, props, creative logs, unformed experiments, concept maps etc. The exhibition will give audiences a glimpse into the creative processes and behind the scenes.

《光的漂流記》An Odyssey of Light

跨媒體藝術家及策展人王志勇以大型燈光裝置《光的漂流記》，回應他探討光與情感之間的 關係。他透過提問與研究光的顏色、亮度、節奏、形狀、方向和動態等等，怎樣微妙地影響 我們的情緒、反思和內省 ?

Wong Chi Yung, cross-disciplinary artist and curator is invited to present his work. An Odyssey of Light is a large-scale light installation, this artwork is created as an artistic response toward his research on light and human emotions. He begins artist creative journey by questioning and investigating the fundamental properties of light, such as color, intensity, rhythm, form, direction and movement which could affect our emotion, mindful ability, introspection.

由 14 位來自不同背景的資深舞台科藝藝術家，組 成 � 個不同組合創作展演作品。策展人李浩賢、 徐碩朋及顧問伍宇烈、黎蘊賢以及袁卓華，與一眾 科藝藝術家進行一連串工作坊及實驗交流，以各自 豐富的劇場經驗，顧問團隊的支援及空間平台，編 作出植根科藝的全新短篇作品。 6 groups of 14 technical arts artists work together to showcase their creative achievements. Curators Lawrence Lee, Allan Tsui and consultants Yuri Ng, Orlean Lai and Yuen Cheuk Wa conducted a series of workshops and experimental exchanges with these technical arts artists to develop a platform for utilization and the repositioning of technical arts and compile new works rooted in technical arts.

從抽象的元素開始，三名「宅男」自行製作「玩具」，拼湊出一個由聲音、影像與影偶 組成的實驗遊樂場。
