扎根香港的國際藝壇盛事聯繫中國與世界香港藝術節於 1973 年正式揭幕，是國際藝壇中重要的文化盛

PLUS PROGRAMMES – More Than Great Performances Festival PLUS continues its mission to broaden audiences’ Festival experiences beyond the stage. Adding to the list of great performances, PLUS oﬀers a fusion line-up of in-venue and online activities, including a piano-hypermedia installation, enriching the experience of music programme of Nirvana from Shanghai; an artist sharing by choreographers from mainland China, France, and Australia, exploring the dance creations by distance of Xiao Ke and Colossus; and an online behind-the-scenes of The Greek Passion from the Czech Republic, revealing the production process of this opera masterpiece. Additionally, there are ﬁlms and screenings, masterclasses, workshops, meetthe-artist sessions, and pre-performance talks, to give you a deeper engagement with the artists and their works.

The border between online and offline worlds has gradually blurred, and artistic innovations such as Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT), which harness blockchain technology, have challenged traditional notions of intellectual property while simultaneously pointing to new models for it. As a major international festival of the performing arts for the past 50 years, the Hong Kong Arts Festival has always placed great importance on arts development and is committed to developing the potential of Art Tech in the city. In the first of this series of public talks as part of the special project Laila, the Festival invites representatives from leading local think tanks and law firms for a dialogue on the importance and development of intellectual property in the city.

《深夜小狗神秘習題》令人歎為觀止的科技舞台設計，不但風靡倫敦西區，香港藝術節的每位觀眾亦深受震撼。藝術節在過去亦帶來多齣糅合不同科技的演出，包括展現沉浸式體驗的《聲光園》（2011年）和運用聲景科技的《聲光頌》（2017年）。儘管藝術科技是近年的熱門話題，來自表演藝術界的聲音卻鮮有聽聞。《拉娜》公眾講座系列的第二場，猶如將聚光燈直照在「表演藝術X科技」，邀請舞台設計及製作的業界精英，與大家從舞台說起。 The award-winning stage production The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time has entranced audiences worldwide, from London’s West End to the Hong Kong Arts Festival, with its technologically enhanced stage design. Over the past decade, the HKAF has also brought a number of performances using various stage technologies to Hong Kong audiences, like the immersive Power Plant (2011) and the soundscape Chorus (2017). Though arts X tech has increased in prominence in recent years, discussions of it from people in the field of performing arts have been rare. The second of the Laila Public Talks will focus on theatre, inviting leading stage designers and director to tell us all more about “Performing Arts X Tech”. 誰會想到《拉娜》外展大使不但肩負向學生推廣相關外展及教育活動的重任，更會辦起自己的第一個藝術展覽？Zeno顧定軒這位本地年輕偶像，就為我們帶來了這份驚喜！ Zeno將會在《拉娜》公眾講座的壓軸一場，分享他這一年來的歷程體驗與感受。講座亦會回顧整個《拉娜》外展活動系列，包括教師研討會、《方圓之外》的到校巡迴示範演出、《拉娜》體驗及教育導賞、期間限定展覽等。講座尾聲更會揭曉「藝術Ｘ科技創作比賽」的最後賽果，並進行現場頒獎。 What an astonishment our Outreach Ambassador has given us! Zeno Koo, a popular young local actor, was initially invited to help promote Project Laila’s outreach event to local students. While he has been actively learning with students, he took us by surprise last year by curating his first art exhibition! In the final chapter of the Talk series, Zeno will share his experience of taking part in the year-long education series. The talk will also cover the Arts Education Teacher Seminar, the school tour demonstration performance Beyond the Firmament, and a guided tour of the Laila opera experience and the pop-up exhibition. In the 18th century, the likes of Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven did not compose keyboard works on the piano we know today. Instead, they used the fortepiano, a diﬀerent instrument, that was a predecessor of the modern piano. Torsten Mann, currently répétiteur at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt am Main, is a fortepiano specialist with a vast knowledge of historically informed performance (HIP) practice. In this masterclass, he will share his insights of performing the Classical repertoire on this period instrument with appropriate skills, sonorities and style—to better understand what the 18th century masters envisioned in their works, and to recreate what audiences of the day would have heard. 13

In the year of the Beijing Winter Olympics, the HKAF presents ground breaking ice dance company Le Patin Libre in three dual- screen videos at ice rinks across Hong Kong. Video 1: Glide, the choreographic technique that makes ice-skating magical and unique in allowing human bodies to move through space without the constraint common to other forms of movement. Screen one: group choreography based on speed and immobility. Screen two: artists share their thoughts on how Glide feels and the freedom it gives.

About the company

Video 2: Complex Harmony, showing geometric forms from traditional group skating as well as more complex ways of organising movements of individuals and groups. Screen one: group choreography alternating between simple unison and complex harmony. Screen two: artists share their thoughts on being simultaneously part of the whole and strongly individual. Video 3: Murmuration, group choreography inspired by the movements of ﬂocks of birds, schools of ﬁsh, and the algorithms behind complex systems like social media and the stock market. Screen one: group choreography of beautiful ice-skating murmuration. Screen two: artists explain why murmuration is so compelling in relating the parts and the whole.

1960年代台北艋舺華西街傳奇人物「十三聲」，在大厝口廣場賣藝說書，舉凡古今軼事、流行俚俗，都是他的拿手好戲。他更可一人分飾多角，忽男忽女，幼聲老嗓，唯妙唯肖，讓圍觀者拍案叫絕。雲門舞集藝術總監鄭宗龍透過這個由母親告訴他的故事，在演出中連結自身童年的擺攤生活經驗與艋舺廟宇風華，重構曾經看過及感覺到的回憶景象。 Cheng Tsung-Lung, artistic director of Cloud Gate, grew up selling slippers on Bangka, Taipei’s oldest district. Here he merges his own memories with fantastical tales of a legendary 1960s street performer and storyteller “Thirteen Tongues”, who it was said could vividly conjure up all the characters of the streets: high- and low-born, sacred and banal, male and female. On a stage awash with projections of brilliant colours, shapes and images, with music ranging from Taoist chants to Taiwanese folk songs to electronica, the dancers summon up the clamour of street life in an immersive homage to memories and stories.

Pine Smoke presents the art of five shadings in ink and the perception of emptiness. Against a backdrop of one hundred acres of rice fields, the dancers move with the mountains and the drifting clouds. The silk costumes flutter in the wind. In this ﬁlm, two Cantonese opera exemplars of the chou seng, Ma Sze tsang & Sun Ma Sze Tsang, meet and sing together! The two Mas play the roles of father and son. To get into a charity gala for free, the younger Ma teaches the elder Ma to sing the famous song The Soul of the Yu Xia, a song Ma Sze-tsang once sang exquisitely on stage for seven minutes solo. Before the ﬁlm screening, Sun Kim-long, a senior Cantonese opera performer and artistic director of A Tribute to Cantonese Opera Legend Sun Ma Sze Tsang, will share more about the essence of Cantonese opera with the audience.

In this behind-the-scenes video, the creative team and main cast talk about the process of working with an enormous cast, and the oﬀ-stage work that gives rise to this splendid production of a modern masterpiece. 26

在香港藝術節青少年之友成立 30 周年之際，香港藝術節將於第 9 屆傑出文化領袖講座系列中，與來自蘇格蘭芭蕾舞團、薩爾斯堡音樂節和東京文化會館的三位國際藝術教育領袖進行線上討論。是次網上直播講座的主題為「藝術教育和觀眾拓展的最新趨勢」，講者除了會分享其外展計劃所帶來的影響外，主持人亦會帶領討論及答問環節。 To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Young Friends of the Hong Kong Arts Festival, the 9th edition of the Distinguished Cultural Leadership Series will feature an HKAF discussion LIVE with three international arts education leaders from the Scottish Ballet, Salzburg Festival and Tokyo Bunka Kaikan on the “Latest Trends in Arts Education and Audience Development” and the impact of their outreach and engagement programmes. Individual presentations will be followed by a panel discussion and a Q&A.

盧曉嵐是香港大學文化管理部的節目總監，自2013年起設立「港大繆思樂季」（ HKU MUSE ）。其藝術管理經驗包括在卡內基音樂廳、紐約青年交響樂團、波士頓檀格塢音樂中心、紐約愛樂等擔任不同工作崗位。 Sharon Lu is the Programme Director of The University of Hong Kong’s Cultural Management Oﬃce, and she helped establish My University Spotlight Encounters in 2013. Her arts management experience there includes positions with Carnegie Hall, New York Youth Symphony, Tanglewood Music Festival, and the New York Philharmonic.

凱瑟琳．卡茜迪擅長將舞蹈廣泛運用於各類社區項目，從健康、教育項目到體制改良均有涉足，在此方面已有逾二十年專業經驗。在她的領導下，蘇格蘭芭蕾舞團在舞蹈健康項目方面成為業界翹楚。 Catherine Cassidy has over 20 years’ professional experience of using dance in a wide range of community settings, from health to education and reformation. In her 10 years as Director of Engagement at Scottish Ballet, she has led the company to become a specialist in dance health.

烏蘇拉．傑薩泰是巴塞爾劇院和蘇黎世劇院的教育團隊成員。她曾擔任斯圖加特國家歌劇院的“Junge Oper” 音樂劇教師，及指導巴伐利亞國家歌劇院的兒童和青年節目。自 2021 年 3 月起，她負責薩爾斯堡音樂節的青年節目 jung&jede*r。 Ursula Gessat was a member of the theatre education team at the Basel Theatre and at Zurich’s Schauspielhaus. She worked as a musical theatre pedagogue at the Stuttgart State Opera’s “Junge Oper” and directed the children’s and youth programme of the Bavarian State Opera. Since March 2021 she has been responsible for jung&jede*r, the Salzburg Festival’s youth programmes.

受過鋼琴訓練的杉山幸代在日本和英國擁有15年的藝術工作經驗。幸代於2019年4月加入東京文化會館，主要負責與學校、文化機構和福利組織合作的社會包容性項目。 Trained as a pianist, Yukiyo Sugiyama is an arts professional with 15 years of experience working both in Japan and the UK. In April 2019 she joined the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, mainly responsible for social inclusion projects in collaboration with schools, cultural institutions and welfare organisations.

李冠輝負責香港藝術節的所有藝術教育項目，包括青少年之友、部分音樂和歌劇節目，以及與藝術科技有關的特備節目《拉娜》。他亦是香港著名室內合唱團Die Konzertisten 和香港青年合唱團的創始人之一。 Kenneth Lee is in charge of all the arts education programmes of the Hong Kong Arts Festival, including the Young Friends scheme, some of the music and opera programmes of the Festival, as well as the arts and technology Special Project Laila. He is one of the founders of Die Konzertisten, a distinguished chamber choir in Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong Youth Choir. 33
