From June 26th to June 28th 2017, the Hive held our first conference: the Future of Design in Higher Education Convening. The event was a continuation of the January Convening in Dallas organized by Kate Canales (Southern Methodist University) and Doreen Lorenzo (University of Texas at Austin). In attendance at the Hive Convening we had 40 design educators from 25 institutions representing four countries. The attendees were specifically invited because they are involved in establishing design thinking and creativity programs at their schools. The goal was to share successes and challenges, with an emphasis on creating solutions to common challenges together.
