Dear friends, what a joyous day this is for the Church. On this day we remember Christ’s coming to earth over two thousand years ago. And we celebrate his coming into our hearts as we continue our journey of faith. During the Advent season we contemplated the three “comings” of Christ: in history, at the end-times, and into our hearts. Today we celebrate the Nativity of the Lord—his coming in history—as fully as we can. In celebrating the Nativity, we fervently pray that our dear Lord will also be born in our hearts. Then we, like the Blessed Mother, can share his presence with the world around us. With great joy on this festival day, we are filled with wonder and awe at the birth of God’s Son. With a profound sense of gratitude we raise our voices in this great prayer of thanksgiving – the Mass of the Nativity. Christmas is a time in which we continue to keep watch. We wait for justice and mercy to descend from heaven, for the fullness of life to spring up from the earth. In the mystery of the Christmas liturgy, on this holy day we encounter the Lord in glory. As members of our Partner Parishes striving to live out God’s will, we continue to look forward in hope as we await his Messianic Kingdom. Santa Claus Visits Partner Parishes Faith Formation Teachers and Students Santa Claus brought presents for all our Faith Formation teachers and students at their Dec. 18 Christmas party at St. Cecilia Social Hall. Looks like everyone had a jolly time at the party!
