The Historical Society of Palm Beach County (HSPBC) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to collect, preserve, and share the rich history and cultural heritage of Palm Beach County. With support, HSPBC maintains an active research and collections facility dedicated to the history of Palm Beach County, Florida, and the Caribbean, including four million photographic images, maps, newspapers, journals, periodicals, architectural drawings, and more. Through these archives, the stories of the people, places, and events that have shaped our community are preserved, uncovered, and shared with generationstoday and tomorrow. Education is central to HSPBC’s mission and vision. Through school partnerships, student programs, educational initiatives, field trips, outreach experiences, and hands-on opportunities to engage with primary sources and local history, HSPBC connects students with the stories of their own community. By bringing history into the classroom and students into the museum and archives, these programs help young people develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of Palm Beach County’s history while encouraging them to see themselves as part of its continuing story.

Featured Exhibit This winter, the Historical Society of Palm Beach County invites visitors to experience America through the power of six strings with America at the Crossroads: The GUITAR and a Changing Nation, a nationally touring exhibition from the National GUITAR Museum. On view January 9 through June 30, 2027, the exhibition features 40 rare and historic guitars that trace the evolution of the United States through one of its most iconic cultural symbols.
