It is advised that only trained users operate the following machinery. As with any piece of moving machinery, accidents can happen when there is a lack of caution, alertness and planning.
We recommend that all users wear hard hats and safety boots as a minimum, with additional PPE to be worn if required as per your site rules and/or task.
Depending on site requirements, users may need an EWP Endorsement to be able operate these machines. Please let one of our staff members know if you require training before use. An SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) will be provided with each hire.

Which such a wide range of machines in such a wide range of sizes and weights available, transport can become a rather technical matter. Luckily, we’ve got a team of expert truck drivers who are highly skilled at loading/unloading, the necessary safety process that come with that and getting machines where they need to be, when they need to be there.
A large range of delivery vehicles ensures we have the right sized truck for the job. From Utes to small Class 2 Trucks for access machinery, right up to massive Class 5 Trucks with two pilot vehicles, we can transport nearly everything in our fleet right to your site!

Even the most perfectly maintained and cared for machine can breakdown on the rare occasion due to accidents, mis-use and freak issues. The team here at HireWays know that time is money, and having machinery sitting around on your site is not good for productivity. Which is why we offer a breakdown and servicing team, on call 24/7, to assist you with any breakdowns and faults that may arise. If its serious, we’ll get a replacement machine out to you, stock dependent, at our cost. That’s how things work here at HireWays!
SERVICING
We also conduct regular servicing on every item in our fleet to prevent breakdowns and extend the life of our machinery. The team is very strict with this, so when a service falls due when you’ve got it on hire, we will pro-actively visit your site and perform the service when its not in use. This ensures your machine can keep running to the same high standard that it did when you received it, and helps to prevents future downtime.
OUR SAFETY
Making sure everyone gets home safely is a huge focus here at HireWays, and across the industry. We’re dedicated to stocking machinery with market-leading safety specifications to achieve just that.
• High Machine safety standards – ROP’s, FOP’s, safety rails, handbrake-alarms, fire-extinguishers and first aid kits, among other things, are commonly found across all our equipment. We regularly work with sites to ensure our gear is upto-standard and free from safety risks.
• H&S Reporting – We are focused on meeting all Worksafe requirements, and are constantly reviewing our minimum standards to ensure we’re compliant. This includes regular incident reporting, site inspections and safety alert process to roll-out improvements/changes.
• H&S Accreditation - We actively work to maintain our Totika and SiteSafe accreditations to ensure our team can safely access your sites, and prove we actively focus on health and safety.
OUR COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
We’re commited to giving back to the communities that support us. Over the years, we’ve been heavily involved with charities and community events.
CHARITIES WE SUPPORT:
• Rapid Relief Team (RRT) - Regular donations to RRT, who are active community supporters across the region & the world. They’re known for their generosity, providing food boxes to those in need across NZ, refreshments for emergency services at major disasters and so much more.
• Relay for Life (R4L) - Active involvement in the local R4L event, including hosting a team, providing light towers and a matching donation for every dollar sponsored for our team.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:
• Rural Games - HireWays has been heavily involved in the New Zealand Rural Games since its beginning. Held in the Palmerston North square, HireWays has been offered the cutest little future operators the opportunity to get hands-on with an excavator and try out their skills.
• Central Skills Hub - Working with CSH to develop the next generation of operators, including being involved with a meeting with Jacinda Ardern to show her the operation.
• UCOL - Attending UCOL events to chat and share knowledge with industry potentials
• Kindergarten/school visits - We know that finding talent is one of the construction industries largest challenges. So why not start em young? We regularly host kindergarten/school visits to help our most machinery mad potential become interested in the industry.
• CCNZ - We’re keenly involved in the Civil Contractors NZ association, partaking in events and much more. These include charity golf days and the National Excavator Competition.
