DESIGN
Working with cutting-edge materials and manufacturing techniques, we design new and revolutionary products which solve problems we see as cyclists. Most recently this includes the world’s first anti-angle security system, the Hiplok 1000 Series, which uses new materials never seen before in bicycle and motorcycle security.
SECURITY
All Hiplok locks undergo a rigorous testing and development process, using real world attack methods, to ensure they are as strong as possible for purpose. We work with independent security accreditation houses worldwide to certify the strength of our locks, including Sold Secure and ART.

SECURITY RATINGS
When we develop a new lock or security product, it gets put through a series of rigorous tests to ensure it is fit for purpose. We work with various independent security accreditation houses across the world to certify the strength of our locks, including Sold Secure in the UK. Companies such as Sold Secure and ART are independent, impartial and non-profit testing facilities. They put locks through a variety of tests and assign a security level to them to make it easier for customers to compare between different locks and brands. Tests include lock picking, lock manipulation, drilling and cutting, bolt croppers and other typical attack techniques.
A Sold Secure rating means a bike lock has gone through a series of tests to determine its strength and suitability. Without a Sold Secure certification, you cannot ultimately be assured that the lock has been tested effectively and, therefore, how much protection it will offer your bike. ‘Ultimate’ and ‘Maximum’ security ratings are definitions based upon the highest possible certifications for bicycle and motorcycle locks. No lock or security device is a guarantee against theft.
Note: From 2023 onwards, Sold Secure ratings have updated certification descriptions. ‘Bicycle’ ratings are now ‘Pedal Cycle’, and ‘Motorcycle’ ratings are now ‘Powered Cycle’.
