HIP-HOP HERALD - JULY 2022

Rapper, entrepreneur, podcaster, graffiti artist, and the soon-to-be CEO of his own Artist Development Company, El is also one-half of The Artifacts, a hip-hop group from my hometown, Newark, New Jersey. Although I am familiar with The Artifacts, being a child of the 80’s, I wasn’t familiar with the man. So, I did some research before speaking with him, which made for a great interview because my questions were ripe. El, I feel like I can call him that after our interview - El had just finished conducting an interview of his own right before our meeting. He told me that he guest-hosts on a friend’s podcast, Sands on Sports, where he and his friend, J. Sands interview their guests in quarter sessions, asking a rampage of questions about sports. Sands on Sports can be viewed on you-tube. The interviewer became the interviewee. Since I had just researched (googled) him, I saw that he had just released another album. So that was 1 part of my 1 st question.
