Sip Your Way Through Noosa's Best Wine Bars
Some occasions call for beer, some celebrations demand champagne, and every now and then, you just need an amazing cocktail. But at the end of the day, you can never go wrong with a great glass of wine. So stop what you’re doing, and check out the best wine bars on the Sunshine Coast.
Sails Wine Bar
Hidden just behind Massimos Ice Creamery on Main Street, Sails Wine Bar stands out as one of the Sunshine Coast’s premier wine destinations where they serve 40 wines by the glass in their wine bar, including many premium wines using the Coravin preservation system. Ideal for a relaxed pre-night out drink, it’s so inviting that you might reconsider your evening plans. Their wine collection is expansive, considered one of Queensland’s best, making it the perfect place to treat your date to that special bottle of Grange you’ve been eyeing. Within its vault, under special lock, lie prestigious labels like Henschke, Penfolds Grange, Salon, Chateau Margaux, and a vintage range from Domaine Romanee Conti. Plus, for an exclusive touch, you can privately hire the space for your next gathering.
Apero Wine Bar
If you appreciate a nice glass of wine (or bottle), look no further than Noosaville’s Apero. Apero is all about celebrating the European tradition of catching up with a friend for an aperitif and a bite to eat. Their extensive, meticulously-curated, ten-page long wine list draws on wines from all over the world and is the perfect complement to any long chat and Mediterranean-inspired share dish. Just across the road from the Noosa River, stroll on into their Euro-chic bar, as Apero Wine Bar only accepts walk-ins.
Atelier
Specialising in French and Italian drops, Atelier’s rare and premium wines are made to be shared. They utilise a Coravin preservation system, so you can enjoy the wine usually reserved for the upper echelons of society in 75 and 150ml pours—so no need to buy the bottle. Drop into their intimate and seriously gorgeous space in Noosa Heads, complete with open wine shelves and a 16-seater French oak table for you and yours. Make a reservation here.
Theo’s Social Club
Just up the road from Atelier, you can find Theo’s Social Club. Taking strong French and Italian influence in both their food and drink menu and the streetside setting, Theo’s is an inspired bar with a unique lineup of wines. Inside, you can find a rotating reserve list, made up of low-intervention wines of tiny allocations. Score a streetside table and watch the sun set surrounded by fairy lights while you sip a fine wine and nibble on charcuterie or find a seat by the bar and immerse yourself in the hustle of the bar. You can’t go wrong at this stunning Noosa Heads wine bar.
250 Grammi
It would appear that Noosa is the home of all things wine. This up-vibe, authentic Italian restaurant is situated across from the Noosa River and is open until late—European style—so you can soak in those river views well into night. As the sun sets however, you may want to turn your attention to their wine list. Using the same preservation system as Atelier, 250 Grammi has wines on offer for any budget. Full of Australian and New Zealand wines as well as French and Italian reserves, their wine list is impressive. Oh, and while you’re being impressed, look at their antipasti menu, delicious.
Miss Moneypenny’s
There’s no wrong time to head to Miss Moneypenny’s for a glass of wine—after a tough day at work, late on a Friday night, or for a cheeky Sunday sesh, you’re guaranteed pumping tunes, an awesome wine list, and a buzzing atmosphere. There’s a huge range of wines by the glass and the bar menu will keep those hunger pangs at bay.
