“As social and active as you make it with a variety of activities. Community of like-minded people. It’s the place for us.” Homeowner at Inchmarlo
People at Inchmarlo aren’t really the retiring type.

Inchmarlo House

INCHMARLO HOUSE
Inchmarlo House is a magnificent listed Georgian mansion, dating back to around 1750, which sits on an elevated south facing position with superb views over the River Dee. The House was transformed into a 52-bed care home in 1987 and regularly receives high grades from the Care Inspectorate. Inchmarlo offers care at home and housing support to homeowners, who receive priority entry to the care home for day, respite or long-term care if required.
There is also a hairdressing salon, bar, restaurant and club room (designed in the style of a luxury country house hotel) for the use of homeowners. Regular events are organised, including concerts on the lawn and food tasting evenings in the dining room. Homeowners can order three course meals from the kitchen to be delivered to their own home for a special occasion or on a regular basis.
Inchmarlo House is also the administrative centre of the Retirement Village and is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Some homeowners choose to wear a pendant or activate the help-call unit, which are both connected to Inchmarlo House and trigger an immediate response, no matter what time of day or night. Our Security Wardens can also provide emergency property assistance.
“Living on the estate has been a joy. The safest place in the world. Now my husband is in care at Inchmarlo and is being very well looked after.” Homeowner at Inchmarlo
A visit to Inchmarlo will soon change your views about care homes.

Balmoral Castle

ROYAL DEESIDE
Queen Victoria was so enchanted by the serenity and haunting loveliness of Deeside – her “Dear Paradise in the Highlands” – that after Balmoral Castle was built for her in 1855, she made it her holiday home.
Set in 30,000 acres on the banks of the River Dee, Balmoral Castle is still the summer residence of the Royal Family, who regularly attend Crathie Kirk and the Braemar Highland Games.
Banchory, just two miles east of Inchmarlo, has a vibrant High Street of shops and restaurants. It also has four churches, a public library, museums, gym and a sports centre with a swimming pool.
Inchmarlo is near many golf courses, including Inchmarlo Golf Centre, which is next door. Other nearby facilities include horse-riding, putting, tennis, bowling and fishing.
With over 300 castles, stately homes and ruins dotting its landscape, Aberdeenshire is unsurprisingly known as “Scotland’s Castle Country.” There are also many whisky distilleries to visit (and perhaps to sample) on the Malt Whisky Trail.
“The best move I ever made – friendly and supportive neighbours, peace of mind, great views – what more could you ask?” Homeowner at Inchmarlo
At Inchmarlo, one’s visitors always get a royal welcome.
