j EAN F ri EDLANDE r

A longtime resident of Fox Point, Jean Friedlander was an important advocate for the arts in her community. Jean was devoted to the Milwaukee Art Museum, where she volunteered for over 55 years as a docent and major fundraiser. She also ran Collectors Corner, a small gallery in Door County featuring well-known Wisconsin artists and important works from Jean’s private collection. In addition to her loyalty to her family and the arts, Jean also loved poetry, tennis, literature, philanthropy, traveling and caring for her extensive tulip garden.

The Friedlander residence, an important Prairie style home, was designed by Willis and Liliian Leenhouts in 1952 and is now a county landmark in Fox Point. The home was wonderfully furnished with American and Danish furniture and decorative arts of the period, including designs by Edward Wormley, Finn Juhl and Beatrice Wood.

Lots 337-371 are property from the Estate of Jean Friedlander, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
