Report November 2022 | himforher.org
Among the many joys of living in the Bay Area, I never imagined one would be sharing a property line with Yitz and I got to know each other chatting beneath the pomegranate tree that reaches across our backyards. A venture investor, Yitz is not only a good neighbor but also a valuable sounding board for business ideas. Naturally, I engaged him in my early thinking about Him
In the following pages, we explore the outcomes that ripple from Him For Her introductions, when strategic connections translate into board appointments that can lead to better outcomes for companies and their stakeholders.
After all, board diversity is not a pipeline problem. It’s a network problem.
Before I knew it, Yitz and I were sitting in the living room of Scott Cook, the legendary founder of Intuit. Thanks to Yitz’s introduction, Scott graciously guesthosted the inaugural Him For Her roundtable dinner in May 2018. Four years and 127 roundtables later, Him For Her has introduced thousands of board-ready women and board-building CEOs. How many of these connections – and the subsequent ripple effects they generated –would have happened without that conversation under the pomegranate tree?
When you extend your network to Him For Her –connecting us with women ready for board service and with CEOs and investors looking to build their boards as strategic assets – you help close the gap between those in the boardroom today and talented candidates outside their field of vision.
Together, we will turn those ripples into a wave.

As we work to solve board diversity over the next decade, we are building a funding model that puts us on a path toward self-sustainability.
Last year, we shared our intention to invest in our team to accelerate our progress, with resulting expenses temporarily outpacing earned revenue.
We’ve since onboarded five new team members, invested in our data platform and professionalized our operations, increasing expenses by 73% yearover-year.
We are very pleased that our earned revenue, which grew by 25%, covered half of our operating expenses for the period.
Your generosity ensures we have the short-term runway necessary as we scale to deliver on our goal.
