Arrival and departure Arrival Mme is from 4pm. The fires will be laid, heaMng (if needed) and hot water will be on. We have an extensive guest arrival procedure so everything will have been thoroughly checked for you. Your lemon meringue cupcakes have been made for you by Lynne, from the HH team. We will also have chilled Prosecco at the ready, in an ice bucket. All of your rooms and bedrooms are ready to go. Each guest will receive a bath and hand towel and some mini-MuckyDuck toiletries. Tara from the team will give you a thorough house tour and we’ll only leave when you’re happy with how it all works ! We hope you don’t want to leave us, but on departure day check-out is 10am.

Safety, Damage, Security and Noise Fire exMnguishers and fire blankets are visible and are close to hand – please refer to the plan by the front door. For your safety, please don’t leave tea towels hanging next to hot ovens and please don’t leave washing up on top of the AGA. In the unlikely event that something should get damaged can you please let us know straight away. We’ll need to get it replaced or fixed for our next guests. You are responsible for your own valuables, so please lock cars and make sure that windows and doors are shut. Please respect our neighbours and keep outside sound levels to a minimum between 10pm and 8am. You’ve got a great sound system to use here (with outside speakers). Have fun but remember we’re in Saxlingham Nethergate, not Glastonbury J

Last bits of housekeeping This is an non-smoking house. Please don’t dispose of any sanitary products, nappies or other unsuitable things down the toilet. It will be expensive to fix and could inconvenience our next guests. Hill House is a great place to bring your dog. But please don’t allow your dog on the sofa or upstairs. We’d appreciate it if you take some poop bags out with you as we’ll need you to keep the garden clean. When going out at night or at bed-Mme please ensure your dog is in the dog room. Thank you !

MuckyDuck & Break

Hill House has it’s own brand of toiletries called MuckyDuck. It’s only available here. We’re keen to sell you some as all of the profits (50% of the proceeds) goes to our nominated charity- Break. We provide a sample of it on your towels and we really hope you like it. Just ask to buy some MuckyDuck from Tara, Lynn or anyone from the team at any Mme. Break has six children’s homes in Norfolk and Cambridgeshire and a Fostering Service offering single placements to traumaMsed young people. These kids really do deserve a break. And you get some great soap in the process…

The HH Duck Hunt ! We’ve 10 ducks do`ed around our 6 acres for your kids to find. Solve the puzzles and use the map to find all 10 ducks. Quack, quack.
We’ve put together a Duck Hunt map and clues leaflet. (find it in the places to visit area in the drawing room) You can have a go using this ‘light’ version whenever you want. There’s also a bigger version of the game that we can set up for you (please just ask us) : For £5 per head, children have to find each le`er located next to each duck – which will ulMmately spell out a clue to the locaMon of a treasure chest filled with chocolate coins and other booty. Just ask us if you want us to set this up for you. Again all the profits go to Break – our nominated local charity 15
Outdoor lights and garden lasers For Autumn/Winter months, when it gets darker earlier, your children might like to check out the garden lasers located at the bo`om of the garden near the elephant. All of the outdoor lights are programmed to come on at dusk. The pizza oven, outdoor table area, blue front of house lights and garden lasers at the bo`om of the garden are all programmed to turn o at 11pm. The drive lights, carriage lights and back of house lights stay on all night. They are on dusk to dawn sensors. So you don’t need to hunt out any switches or press anything.

Country Club Info You have free and unlimited use of Dunston Hall Leisure and Golf Club. It’s less than a 10 minute drive away. You also have free golf. If you haven’t organised golf yet but would like to - please give us a call. There’s a set of 15 blue towels upstairs to take down to Dunston pool. Can you please make sure that you bring them back - as once they’re lel down at Dunston they’re gone forever. Thank you ! Next to the towels is your info pack for how to find Dunston and important numbers. The BabyStaMon We think that when travelling with your family you shouldn’t have to pack you car up with everything including the kitchen sink. So we’ve set up the BabyStaMon. It’s located in the tall cupboard in the uMlity room. It should help free up some car space, top you up if you’ve run out or save your legs from walking back upstairs! It’s all complimentary- just help yourself. We run a large mega-flow system which means there should be great pressure throughout and you should never run out of hot water. The heaMng controls are in the uMlity room, to the right of the fridge.

Saxon Club All Hill House guests are members of the Saxon Club. It’s a members bar that overlooks the cricket pitch. It conveniently sits opposite us. Please use the members card on the uMlity room board to gain access to the club. Walks We would recommend taking a walk along the Boudicca Way. It’s been recently rated as a UK Top 50 holiday gem. Please refer to the guests map in the drawing room for a local stretch of the Boudicca Way. It runs directly along-side the house (by the gate to the stables). Turn right at the gate and take a 5 minute walk to see the ruins of the previous St Marys church. Turn lel and take a route up to Shotesham and visit the local pub, The Globe. High Ash Farm is a 10 minute drive away and there’s some great walks around High Ash (see our Top 15 places list)

Last but not least: Sustainability We’re trying really hard to deliver a great product that also reflects the important principles of sustainable tourism. It means we’re thinking really hard about or impact on the local economy and on the environment. All of the HH service providers have been hand-picked by us, they are local and all proceeds go to them. And we take no commission on anything. What’s important to us is that you have the best stay possible. We turn the heaMng off and AGA down as soon as guests leave. And we’ve been on a programme of replacing all of our lighMng with LED. Please help us to do our bit and keep windows shut in the winter and turn lights off if they’re not needed. Thank you !!
